It's like a ghost town n here? No one excited for the ES besides me & martiangirl? I don't know what 2 expect because I wasn't in the know like I am now during Big Bounce...hope there similar to Armani ETK or Channel Illusiore (can't remember the name of these ESs). I'm not getting my hopes up for these to be as great as those but hoping they're something like a third cousin twice removed (what the he'll does that mean anyway)??? Am I hoping for too much? Must check out red lip bag, because I need another red in my life...

The brush roll is only big enough to hold the SH brushes. The SH brushes in the set are of the typical quality seen in holiday SH brush sets. IMO not of nearly the same quality as the regular MAC brushes. Regular MAC brushes are too long and will not fit in the roll. So skip for me.

The bags did not seem to have any coating on them and IMHO look much better in pics on the web than in real life. I can imagine that they would get dirty over time banging around in my purse.

The makeup sets did nothing for me.

All of these products are available during the anniversary sale. If you have a Nordstrom's card, then you can preorder to pick up next week. I would recommend looking at these in person before buying.

The EC shadows were not available yet for preview.

Thanks for posting. I already decided to get the full size brushes instead, so this is good to know about the brush roll. I'll wait for swatches of the pink and red lip bags.

Arent the brushes SE not SH. SH are the same quality as the full sized just with a small handle and the SE brushes are the ones with bad qualities even though they too have shorter handles.

Yes, they are SE rather than SH.

Argh. The brush roll looks SO NICE, but I told myself I couldn't buy the brushes. I'm always so disappointed by the quality of the SE Nordstrom brushes and need to save $$$ for the full size versions. I never reach for my the other Nordies sets I have.

Too bad the brush roll is so short. If it were big enough to hold regular brushes, I would probably reconsider haha.

scotchguard? that is a valid point, I am still regretting that something leaked on my Wonder woman bag and it is less than pristine now. I knew I should have scotch guarded that puppy.

Does anyone know what the sizes of the eyeshadows on the smokey eye kits are? ie would I be able to depot them somehow and put them into a mac palette? I don't have a big mac collection and I think those kits would be a good way to get some products but I don't want the huge palette...

I looked at them for a minute last week, and from what I recall, the shadows are the normal size.

I figured as much. That's too bad because I think the design is really cute. Why do they always do stuff in white canvas? Black canvas is more practical. It must cost much more.

I went to pre-sale @ Nordies today and have a few thoughts.

The lip bags are nice.

It seems that the stores in my area did not get alot of the red lip bags. My favorite counter got 9 for the entire sale. I bought one and I love it. If you want this one and can pre-sale, I would advise not to wait.

They all have the Creme stick liners in them which I love. The only one I did not have is the red one.

The dazzleglass in the pink bag is GORGEOUS! I wish it was sold on it's own. They seem to have alot of the pink and nude bags.

The e/s kits are nice. The purple kit is gorgeous esp. the mid tone shadow. I have the liner that comes with it (Purple Dash) as well as full size versions of the brushes in it. Given that and that I have about every purple shadow known to man, this was an easy skip for me.

Electric Cool shadows were NOT out and I was told today that Nordie's would not have these until 7/19. Not sure how accurate this info is.

Overall I am very disappointed with the Anniversary Beauty offerings this year (not just MAC). There are fewer and they just aren't very exciting.
