I actually went to the counter after a long time.
Couldnt help myself this time lol

I picked up

Gilded Ash - gorgeous base for a smokey eye!
Spiritualize p/m - I love this minty green its like not other
Gold Mode - omg this color is like 10x more intense than all that glitters

These metal x's ARE REFORMULATED. They are much more creamier than last years! I love Gilded Ash and it goes on just like a paint pot. Loves it! I might pick up MetalBlu since my old one from last year is dried out.

Gilded ash is AMAZING!!! I think this year MAC has really picked up on the smokey, sexy taupes.

I wore my gilded ash today, and i DEF think its reformulated! It is thicker and creamier (not in the greasier creamy way it was before). I used it over a paint today and it was amazing. The moisture in it really just sucks up the color of shadows and it is so much less-budge-ier (I know it's not really a word). My eyeshadow stayed perfect all day! I layered club eyeshadow over it, and it was the first time I have really been able to make the gorgeous green flash show up in Club eyeshadow.

So I decided to use these as shadows alone, not as a base. I tried using the liquidlast liner as a base and no shit, it worked like a charm! I was surprised. I think they were made for these. That is why they are included in this collection. haha Ya'll should try it! Thanks Tiffany for the suggestion, it works!! And these puppies look hot alone too.

I tried one eye yesterday w/ UDPP, the other w/ NO BASE whatsoever, and these definitely need a base! I posted the photos of the results on my blog (below), so yea, use a base! I am going to try them with Paints today and see what happens.

I agree. Without a base, the metal-x shadows crease immediately. I tried liquidlast liners, just like in Tdoll's video, and no go. They creased. I also tried Too Faced Shadow Insurance as a base and a MAC paint as a base, and they creased. When someone suggested at least 2 bases with these, I said no way. Well, today I'm wearing Too Faced Shadow Insurance, then a MAC paint in Bare Canvas over that, then the metal-x shadows on top of that (applied with my finger, then spread out more thinly with a 242 brush). They have creased slightly in the inner corner so far. Do you think 3 bases would be overkill?! These are so pretty that I'm determined to make them work. (I bought gilded ash, pink platinum, and verdigris.)

IMO, 3 bases -even 2- would probably be non-conducive. Plus, what use is a product when you have to use that many to get it to work? Do you have oily lids? If they are super oily, it may not matter what you use w/ these, they will prob not work.

Or, have you tried one base of Bare Canvas in a thin layer? Maybe it will work. Hope something works for you!

Don't know if this has been mentioned or not, but just FYI:

If you have Gilded Green pigment from the Colour Forms collection, you have Spiritualize pigment. They are nearly identical, with Spiritualize being only a tad bit darker, but not enough to be noticeable.

Went to MAC, all the MUAs have them on...they all crease!!! They told me these are supposed to crease? WTH? Not a good look, but, damn, they're gorgeous! Picked up Gilded Ash to use for a smokey eye... they told me to use a reg eyeshadow on top.... and to think of the Metal X as an accessory...

Have you looked into your MAC-book to be sure?

I can't wait for this collection. Not because of the e/s (I won't risk them to crease.. oily lids alert! Will skip Pink Platinum.. I hoped it would be more vibrant anyway) but because of the Pigments and Glitters!

*whisper* Yes. As a MAC addict you can loose the overview sometimes, especially with all these LE products. But don't tell anyone. *whisper*
