MAC - Mineralize Foundation SPF15 Discussion

I tried the 130 for blush today and HATED it. I just don't like that kind of brush for blush. I feel like I have less control even though it's smaller. I prefer to use it for foundation or to blend out concealer. It's a good little brush.

Any NC20 (in select sheer powder, studio fix powder foundation) get color matched? If so what color did you get matched to?
And does anyone know how long this product will be available?
I really want to try it, but haven't the cash right now.
Thanks.

The foundation and brush are perm! So you don't have to worry if you can't get either now

I don't like it for blush either

I wore this today for the first time and really like it. For reference I wear N2 in Face and Body and was matched with NW15.

I applied it with the 130 and the results are beautiful. I was told the 130 works well with the Lillyland creme blushes but I haven't tried that yet.

Regarding comparing the SK flat top brush with the 130...they are NOT the same. Not even the same league IMHO. Awhile back I picked up some of the various SK brushes based on the reviews on various makeup sites and my limited brush budget. While they are serviceable brushes I don't feel they work as well or are as consistent in quality as my MAC brushes. So now instead of buying cheaper I just save my pennies until I can afford the real thing.

Just my two cents worth.

How is the coverage? I need something that will cover acne scarring. Is it buildable?

well the MA didn't use the 130 on me she used the 189 it covered up my acne scares very well, she considers the 130 a blush brush and called it tubby tubby

i wish i was brave enough to show you my bare skin but maybe when the redness is gone.
As for the matching it was very weird because my first mac foundation was studio fix fluid NC25 and i have NC30 on the compact one, she matched me to NW20 and i have to say it looked better than any of the other ones !
i currently use 01 double wear i think it's called fresco and i have 030 dior nude for the summer.
i know my choices in types are messed up but i don't wear foundation all the time because my skin tans easily and i can never get the right color plus my skin is acting crazy going from dry to combo.
th_dunno.gif

so i suggest to go try it before you buy it! i will be hunting down that refined zone!

and again i thank everyone, Flaminbird, Hypathya, only1angel ,TeresitaMC for the positive comments it was the best day in weeks ! Having to cut my long hair last month was a terrible experience and i keep wondering why i am so attached to my hair ?

i will try the 130 brush with all these foundations and report back!

Yeah it's in a small black tube. I think I'll call the two CCO's near me and see if they have it. Thanks for letting me know you saw it

Wow I didn't know that it is such a good product, thank you for this valuable information, I'll write this down and get the skin refined zone for sure.

chickatthegym and mac_aiken......you say the Sonia and the 130 are not the same at all so can you help me and tell me how they are different? I don't want to waste $15 on the Sonia if it's just not going to accomplish the nice look the 130 gave me. I'd greatly appreciate it. I do have one Sonia e/s brush and I dont find it all that great. TIA

erine1881 thanks so much for telling us about the Skin Refined Zone Treatment. I do know that nothing will make my pores get smaller....unfortunately. I do believe she said it will make them "look" smaller. My makeup did however stay matte unlike when I didnt have it. I get alot of oily breakthroughs. One more thing can I ask of your knowledge please. She used prep +prime HD powder and I read that it is mainly composed of cornstarch and that causes break-outs. However when I told the MUA that she said she uses it all the time and doesnt have that problem. When I was younger I used the Cornsilk powder but I cant recall if it caused the acne I had at the time to be any worse or not since I was always plaqued with it.

CoralBlast I too felt like you with all the kind compliments on here. It really made my week because I have just felt like the carnival sideshow or something lately

Hey hun,
As far as the Sonia Flattop and the 130 go- they just are not the same kind of brush... That Sonia one is more like a mini version of the MAC 183 (flat top Kabuki) on a stick haha. It's a really dense flat top brush that is meant for blush but I use it for blending once in awhile, not much else. It's an OK brush... If you can get them on clearance, the Sonia Kushak brushes are a pretty good deal for the price, but I would personally rather save up for MAC brushes if I know it's the one I want, which will last forever and is the best quality.
The 130 is not as dense and has the duo fiber hairs and is meant for foundation and smaller areas around the face. I am really confused why someone would even compare it to that Sonia Kushak brush

Maybe it worked well for her but I don't think they are anything alike. Hope this helps you!

. I guess I'll have to go to MAC today or this coming week and get the brush. I sold some things on ebay so I believe I will be ok to purchase it. Maybe the girl was comparing the two for putting on powder?

Oh and I saw another YT where this lady said she thought the ss197 was better then the 130 for applying the mineralize. Not sure about that though

Thanks for the pic. I don't have half or even a 1/3 of the brushes you have

. I did see the Sonia flat top at Target yesterday on display...they were all out of stock but if you wouldnt mind taking a pic of the two I'd appreciate it.

I just got back from MAC....again and they were all sold out of the 130!!! I did pick up the Skin Refined Zone since I was there (I didnt have a chance to call the CCO anyway). She said they should be getting more of them in but I might just order it online. Is there any free shipping codes in effect?
