MAC - Peacocky discussion

I really want Super, but part of me is wondering if it'll be too light to be the nude color I'm looking for. I don't want it to look like I slapped NC40 foundation all over my lips, youknowwhatimsayin?

I'm really excited for Super, but I'm not expecting it to look nude on me - I'd like more of a soft fawn brown/beige. Here's hoping it's got the right undertone to work on my red lips and skintone (i.e. silver grey undertone without yellow).

If it's not great and perfect, I won't feel bad since lord knows there are going to be a ton of brown-nudes this year.....so far we've got 4 l/s + 4 lip geles in Champale, 3 in Peacocky (if you count Temper Tantra), 1 l/s + 1 l/g in Jeanius and 2 l/s + 1 l/g in Mickey C. That's a whole lotta one shade already!

My list is simple

Center Stage

Love Peck


I decided to get the more neutral shadows here, even if they are considered dupeable, I don't have any of the perm or LE items like them. I'm hoping I'll get more wear out of those when i want to do one shadow, or blush/lip focus looks.

Love Peck is just one of the deep lip colors i have to have. I can't get enough of colors like that, especially when done right. Peacocky, I'm still on the fence. Trust I will be in the store swatching and mixing it with a few other colors so I can determine how its going to work for me. I still think its a fun color and the OCC liptar blue is too light.

Everything else l can pass on. Dandizette looks like something i can make up at home with Love Lace and some other blues. Sexpectations left me unfullfilled! I so wish it was something more red. Passing on all the purples cause I have My Dark Magic and PtE. PtE is THAT purple, and I have the original jar, so I am good on that for a while.

All I can do now is check out the counter for myself on Thurs. to really see what's up.

I am tempted to get Love Peck (especially since it's the exact color of a sweater I just bought) but I compared the swatches to my Hang Up lipstick and it's the same. Hang Up just seems more opaque. I don't know. If I see LP in person, I might just give in and get it.

Both Dark Side and Hang up are too light on my lips and tend to wear off and turn into a pink stain too fast. When I do wear them, I apply clear lip glass on top. Seems to me, Love Peck will wear longer and give me the glossy look that I love in this color range. I say for for it. I like that they have a color like this in this formula. Aside from the Cindi lookalike, and looking at the blue one, I would pass on them. They look too thick to put over a lipstick. I wouldn't.

i think i'll just be getting Flaunting It and Love Peck. That dupe list just told me that pretty much I already have all if not most of the shadows...and a new formula isn't enough persuasion to get me to buy any of them. Plus I have to stock up on perm items that I thought would be around forever but now have the Triangle of Death...

Still have some fun and check them out in person. Some of the items on the dupe list have me a little bit concerned.

They use the dupe list to fill the display and make suggestions in the event of sell outs. Some dupes are spot on, while others are not.

I am shocked Underworld, Honeyflower, and XS are being dc'd and Prussian. ALso, alot of items in NW50 are out as well.

My eyeshadow list is quite long, but the lip list is short (i.e., none). I want to get an idea of the texture of these - my shadow list thus far (probably will be pruned along the way....):

Yeah, I'm still trying to figure out how Silver Ring is a dupe for Ego.

I am so pissed at Honeyflower being discontinued. It's not fair.

I'm still getting Love Peck for sure but now Flaunting It has managed to get on my list. I don't have anything like it, which is pretty surprising since I have a lot of lipgloss.

I'm on the fence about Scandelicious though. It looks like a color I'd love, but Temptalia says it looks like Girl About Town, which I just got thru B2M and I put Easy Lover (NARS) on top, so do I really need it? Enablers - I need opinions please!

I say skip it. It's not terribly unique and GAT is very similar.

Is anyone super bummed out like I am about the size of these eyeshadows? I really want to "extend" my starflash palettes with these, but I feel like it just doesn't belong just because of the size. Shades like Daliance, unflappable, and center stage are great additions, but damn the sizes are such a turn off =(

I don't trust temptalia's lip swatches either just because I know that a lot of things look lighter and washed out on her than in real life. I guess I'll have to wait and see!

Im only getting I think two eyeshadows Dalliance ,Prance, they actully look pretty and I can wear it, the lipglass dosent impress me much since I can always get the same results if I get a lipstick and just put a lipglass and mix the color together.. and get a similer look..

I bought Tweet Me and Mating Call eye shadow along with Love Peck, Woo Me and Super. For some reason, I really like Super that I am wearing today. I might go back for Prance and Scandelicious.

Daliance looks gorgeous but I might have something similar to it. A tad painful to pay 20$ on eyeshadow when I can get a lot of the stuff I own cheaper. Plus, I wouldnt have a use for the large size of it as I can barely finish one of the regular sized MAC pans..
