MAC - Peacocky discussion

I feel like talking about Flaunting It yet again.....
th_worship.gif

I wore it last night with Plum Noir ringed around the eyes and blended all the way up to the brows, with Feline in upper and lower waterline and plenty of Haute & Naughty Lash. Briar Rose on the cheeks with a 'lil Chez Chez Lame highlighting. So soft and pretty, but also modern.

I just LOOOOVE Flaunting It so much. It's totally unusual, but it still reads soft, feminine and approachable. I already backed it up, but I'm so tempted to get an extra back-up (which is crazy, but this color just looks so perfect with NC15, green eyes and dark hair). If some evil makeup tyrant commanded me to get rid of all my Peacocky lippies except one, Flaunting It would have to be it. If the tyrant told me I could only have one lipstick for Spring, I'd pick it too. If the tyrant was being extra evil and demanding I only have one lipstick till the end of the summer, I'd be sad I'd have to pass on whatever amazing bright orange comes down the pike, but I'd still choose Flaunting It. Such a great color - it's like it sprang out of an alternate dimension where only the most perfect makeup colors exist.

Flaunting it is at the top of my list!!!

okay, this thread has multiplied since I have been sick with the flu. what is the consensus on the best base for these eyeshadows? UDPP, Pixie epoxy, no base? do they work with PP? I got all my e/s ready but I am still in the admiring but not touching phase...

My Too Faced Shadow Insurance works beautifully with these shadows. It's the only base I continue to use. No need for another.

I'll try to rope someone into taking a photo but I don't know if I'll be able to get a really color-accurate shot. Wish you could just take them - your pictures always come out really nice.

I've got red lips, but it completely masks them and the color comes out like a subdued, medium to light mauve with a good balance of warm plum and pale silver undertones, depending on how the light's hitting it.
Awww, you're so sweet!! I made my decision, though - skipped on Flaunting It and went for Temper Tantra :) I will try Flaunting It when I go to the counter next week!

So, ladies, I've been baaaaad....

I just placed another big order for this collection... I got Temper Tantra, plus Unflappable, Prance, Centre Stage and Paparrazz-she. I just HAD to fill up my new Ben Nye Palette! It all started because I was picking up a new MSFN which I use everyday and just ran out of, then I realized I'm running out of my serum and moisturizers, so I got the Lightful collection....

Needless to say, this was expensive!! I decided I'd rather invest in more Peacocky items which I love than on WW which I'm only feeling so-so about, and the other items were things I needed (though I wish I didn't need them all at once!). I'll pick up Marquise d' and skip on all the other WW items I was initially looking at (goodbye, MSF!), and then that's it until March!

Aaaand you might have to put up with more looks when my stuff comes in later this week

They work fine with UDPP. I'm trying to use up all of my UDPP because it doesn't last long on my oily lids. They work AWESOME on top of my MUFE aqua creams!

Paparazz-She and Center Stage for sure but for the last 2 I'm not sure. I really like SOY and Unflappable but a lighter shade would be nice too so I'll decide after I swatch these myself. I'm just trying to think of a quad so I don't end up with 8
lol.gif

I did another look today with Paparazz-She and used a stickier primer (one from Detrivore) which made it even more metallic. It's a lovely shade, I'm so happy I got it! That being said, I don't see myself buying every single shade from Peacocky because of the dupability.

I do see myself buying every single KL

I'm in love with Strut Your Stuff! It applies like a dream and I don't need a lipliner with it. After 4 hours it still looked bright red and I only had to re-apply after lunch. It's not that orange on me, definitely more red than orange. Some warmer reds don't look that good on me but luckily SYS isn't one of them. I don't have OCC Harlot but based on swatches it might be close.

Haha, there is no stopping you! :) But hey, count it as a treat for yourself for getting that job! I always do that, when I make some kind of achievement :) I know that I won't be buying any Mac stuff until Quite Cute (if it turns out to be truely cute), so I won't feel too guilty about splashing out on this collection.

Bis, I would imagine that Peacocky will become available in the UK stores next Thursday?

I was so excited to finally get my shadows today since I had put off ordering. I just ordered them from Macys as I was already placing and order there.

Well I opened the box and saw two shadows that were so not Ego and Dalliance. I checked the packing slip and it had the correct names so I called their toll free number. The guy put me on hold forever and told me the wrong UPC was placed on the shadows. I received Unflapable and SOY. These are pretty but not what I ordered. He told me to take these to my Macys and it would take 5-6 weeks to straighten this out and then they would send the correct ones. I told him to forget it that I had ordered them from the site as a convenience so that I would not have to go to the store. I really felt like telling him a few more things but it was not his fault so I did not take my frustration out on him, lucky for him.

I've never had this problem before with Macys customer service. In the past when I have recieved an incorrect item they express the correct one to me and send me a prepaid label to send the other item back.

I wore Noir Plum for the first time today. I kept it simple by putting it in the crease with Dalliance on the lid and brow. I was too tired to try 3 or 4 colors at the buttcrack of dawn. I got compliments from the fellas. :naughty: They like purple apparently. This may sound crazy given the size of these shadows, but I'm thinking I need another Dalliance. I have used it every day I go out since I bought it. I feel like I can't do without it now. I'm going to add some new pics in the swatch thread because I finally got around to swatching the other lip colours that I bought.

Eleentje - haha, thanks so much, I feel a little bit better now! And I know I'm going to be super excited when everything comes in later this week. I have MORE job interviews all weekend for teaching jobs abroad starting in August (10 interviews over 2 days!!!) so I'll be able to use my new stuff to help me look polished and put together! :) (My current 4 jobs only take me to the end of July :p)

Shadowaddict- that sucks, I'm so sorry!! Hopefully you can still get the ones you wanted :)

Shontay - would you judge me if I'm thinking the same thing with Dalliance? lol! That one and SOY.... my two favourite colours EVER!!!!

I've just seen your lip swatches, Shontay, and I think Scandelicious is particularly gorgeous on you. I love that colour, but think it may be rather bright against my very pale skin.

If there was a MAC store or counter anywhere near me, I would definitely give Scandelicious a try when it finally arrives here in the UK. As it's so expensive I can't really afford to make a mistake and buy something that won't suit me, especially as I want to buy so many of the eye shadows. I'm pretty sure I'll get Flaunting It, but I'm not sure which one out of Scandelicious, Temper Tantra, So Vain and Exhibitionist to get.

[/quote] Definitely get Flaunting It. That's my favorite of them all. Temper Tantra is one of the only lip colours I didn't buy. You really can't go wrong with the other 3 you mentioned.
