MAC - Surf Baby Discussion

Shontay all I'm getting is the cheek powder. I looked at the rest of the collection.. and I wasn't moved. I saw it at the local beauty supply store (Naimies) and the cheek powder was sold out (they'd had it a few weeks by the time I saw it). The rest of the collection was... meh. I have more bronzers than I care to admit... and better ones than MAC is offering. Lippies come and go, so no money spent there. Melon Pigment and Naked are pro products. All I like is the cheek powder.

Regarding the Pro Discount... no I'm not surprised. Pro Discounts are only inapplicable with 'designer' collaborations (like Disney, Liberty of London, and Alice & Olivia). This isn't one, so it makes sense that the discount would kick in. It applied for To The Beach too.

LOL girl that's why you have to go with a PLAN! I never stay longer than 15-20 mintues. I get there early, get what I want, and get out. Period. Otherwise you end up frustrated. And the place they're holding tonight's party is sooooo impractical. I'm getting there at 6:30 and browsing Nordies until it starts.

I've been to two parties and it was annoying to have so many people in a cramped space and then making sure the person helping you got the correct items. It was worth it to me, though because I am so impatient when it comes to buying things I've been hearing about. I am usually first in line, so I can swatch what I am most interested in before it walks away.

Exactly! It's funny because for both parties I attended, I browsed in Nordstroms, too. I don't stay for the drinks or to chat. I was like a thief in the night.

HOLLERING @ 'Thief in the night!' Indeed! I'm the same way. I rarely hang around. There are too many folks who don't know what they want, or got WAAAAAAY TOO DRESSED UP for a regular launch party and are teetering around on 7 inch stilettos trying to be seen... A MESS! I don't have time for all of that rigamoro. Just gimme my stuff and I'm OUT!

[/quote] Oh, man yes! I've seen girls throw on their best hair and use every single obnoxious shade of eyeshadow they could throw on their eye to go to these things. Who are they trying to impress? The heels, the bags, I even saw a lady with a fur coat for the VV party. Too, too much. :lol:

You know the posers are the WORST. And I live in LA so you can't throw a rock without hitting one of them.

Spent their whole paycheck on that outfit, nails and hair... for what? A launch party? For real? And then can't afford to buy the products but are busy talking to everyone drinking up everything they can get their hands on and posing for the camera and wasting salespeople's time... don't get me started. SMH.

went to MAC in Madrid today and Hibiscus and My Paradise SOLD OUT !!! I think this make up obsession is just as big in Spain as in the US... I hoped I didn't have to stress out over products while here on vacation

I have no idea. I wouldn't have even known it was on the Pro site had it not been for Specktra! Shame... just a shame. I haven't even gotten my email yet. I imagine by the time they send me the pro email, My Paradise will be gone. Silliness.

i got my mac pro card membership a week ago in spain... still waiting for my card and my number...otherwise i would have already gone and got something on the pro site they say they take up to a month!
