MAC - Surf Baby Discussion

I checked my order, and there's nothing about backordering, just pending. That makes sense of course, since I ordered everything ten minutes to midnight. I was so tempted to do overnight shipping for $10, but I'm already spending more than I should on this collection, so I decided to make myself suffer and wait.

I'm paranoid and just keep rechecking to make sure nothing else has gone backordered for me. I'm pretty much done with MAC collections.

Yeah same here. And if we're all really honest with ourselves, most of it is dupeable by better brands anyway. I like MAC because it's decent for the price point, but not enough to pull all nighters for a chance to MAYBE get a blush.

I am so mad right now! I ordered my Hibiscus really early last night, got second day shipping, got my confirmation, and now I check on my order status and it's backordered.

The limited availability is driving me crazy. It's kind of turning me off right now. Why should I scramble for a really LE, super hyped item when I can probably find an equivalent from a brand who doesn't make their customers suffer like this? I'm kind of done with MAC, atm.

Hell- I know I'll go in first thing on Thursday anyway. *rolls eyes*

I won't be going in to a counter until maybe Friday, if at all. Just gonna let the chips fall where they may with this one, and check out WnW. lol!

Nothing seems to be sold out on the Canadian site. I still don't understand why I never got my automatic confirmation email with my order. And how will the express shipping work if it's a holiday today?

maybe the confirmation will come tomorrow since it's a holiday? when i made my purchase for i can't remember which collection at easter, i think there was a bit of delay with my confirmation too.
i'm still on the fence about placing an online order, or just running to a store on thursday!

woow everything sells out really fast in USA!! here in Italy we don't have an online store, but one or two weeks before the lunch we can phone a store and book everything we want...in this way it's very difficult to miss something!! Of course if there is a super mega fantastic collection things are more difficult^^
I guess the counter in Florence still has something...and it's almost a month that the collection has launched... Italians don't like Surf Baby too much O___o

i'm being responsible with this collection. there's nothing that I really need. as cute as the my paradise powder looks, i dont NEED it. may pick up the tant tint bronzer stick

tan tint is incredible, i can't wait to get it. it's going to last forevvvvvvver

Personally, i don't bother to order online from MAC. I have to pay sales tax either way. I get seriously great treatment at the store I'm a regular at. Waiting a few extra days is fine by me.

I feel for the gals who don't live close enough to a store or counter and have to rely on online only.

If you do live near a store/counter, why even put yourself through this hell?

just called CS and they said both pigment stacks will be online on the 26....which is pointless for me since I am going to the MAC store at 9:30 am that day lol

Personally, i don't bother to order online from MAC. I have to pay sales tax either way. I get seriously great treatment at the store I'm a regular at. Waiting a few extra days is fine by me.

I feel for the gals who don't live close enough to a store or counter and have to rely on online only.

Even though I think it was a rhetorical question, for me it's hit or miss attitude wise at the freestanding here, sometimes I get a nice person, other times I get the divas and I have no patience for them. Around this time of year, taking the train up there and walking is out (when it gets to be code orange air quality and higher, it's hard for me to breathe outside). I like the small counter near me okay for when I run out of staples, but service is spotty and they sometimes don't get things. Buying online saves my time, gas, and in the summer lungs hee!

They did not mention that but i highly doubt it because both pigment stacks showed up online as unavailable while the blush was there from 11 at night till this morning i believe but i could be wrong ;/

there are a few counters and stores in the area, but by the time i can make it to the counters the day of a launch, things are often already sold out across the board! some of the macs also don't allow reserving items in advance, for some strange reason. maybe for regulars, but i tend to frequent all the various locations depending on where i am! i managed to chase down cyy last time, but i had to phone around several locations.
