Shontay - I loooove Hibiscus on u, u totally rock it!

I'm still thinking of getting very minimal number of products from this collex. Maybe just one of the pigments stacks. I like the bronzers but I have soooo many already. I use bronzers everyday and still have not even gone thorough 1/3 of even one of them!

You have every right to be upset. As has been mentioned by a number of people, this LE frenzy-building turns something that should be fun and exciting into something stressful. The stress is something that seems to have been ramped up in the last year. I remember wanting things from Cult of Cherry that sold out, but they sold out over a period of more than a month. I at least had time to think about whether or not I really wanted something. Heck, this Spring, I took a really long time to decide I wanted Guerlain's Blush G, which was supposedly a big "cult item" and I still managed to find it without too much trouble a long time after it was released. Other companies seem to be able to balance making something limited and making something impossible to get a lot better than Mac.

I just placed an order for hibiscus at nordstroms online, but I'm not hoping for much. MAC I ordered and they have me (and others here) on a "2 Week" back order.

I don't know why they have us on "Backorder" if we were "able" to "purchase" it. Unless they know they "screwed" up with the "add to bag" too long and had
already sold out, and now are trying to see if anybody "cancels" orders or they make more in this two week period to fulfill those on the "Backorder" list.

OMG MAC GAMES!

p.s. I know , it's just a lipstick, and one I may or may not have another l/s that is similar. And it isn't the end of the world for me, but I'm more or less upset
with the "Backorder" thing, when I could "Add to bag" and go all the way through to "Ordered." Just sayin'

I also prefer this over another love of mine: Exxxhibitionist. Again, I prefer this formula. I think the coverage with this lipstick is fuller(for me) and I much prefer the scent of this lipstick over the...different smell of the KLC. I guess I should do comparison swatches. I'll be back.

I am unsure about hibiscus even tho i have one on hold. I trust your judgement and your saying under no circumstances that I should leave the store without it? Would it even work with my coloring?

I just got my shipping confirmation for Sun Blonde and Surf USA! Yay! I can't wait to play with them

In other news, I bought a couple of the new NYX round lipsticks to add some corals to my collection, and they are so pretty! I am in love with Haute Melon, probably not nearly as red as Hibiscus, but it's so bright and cheerful! I never thought I would be able to pull off a nearly orange lipstick, but I love the look, very summery!

Kate, that is very, very well said! That's how it was with me and the Dior Aurora bronzer- - I was on the fence about it for a couple of weeks and then when I decided to take the plunge and get it, I was able to find it relatively easily and that was/is a sought after item...but it is still *obtainable*. The rate at which things MAC things are selling out is just insane - and for people to get back order notices and told to check other retailers from the MAC CS reps. Ugh. It gets so frustrating. AND this is all in less than 24 hours of the collection launching!!!!

Which is why I think I was actually a bit relieved when I decided not to cave to the madness with this collection. I may still go to my counter on Thursday - it'll either be at lunch or after work - I don't have the luxury of being there when the doors open, but if I can get Hibiscus and Sun Blonde then, wonderful, if not, hopefully I'll be able to track them down in the clearance bin (if I haven't moved on to the next latest and greatest and am over these things by then!)

Anyway, after being bummed about the LE feeding frenzy, tonight I ordered 3 Armani Eyes to Kill Intense shadows and 3 MUFE liners.

I can't wait until those packages arrive!

Shontay, thank you for sharing the comparisons of HIbiscus to Exxhibishionist, Toxic Tale and Cyndi - and for sharing the beautiful pictures of you wearing Hibiscus - it looks really, really great on you - - I love how versatile this lippie is. Kate and her fair self rocks it, Shontay rocks it - - <sigh> Hopefully I can find it and rock it too. If not, I'll throw on some TT, top it with some gloss and pretend. LOL!

I really feel bad that people who truly had their hearts set on some of these items aren't able to get them. I hope the backorders come through and everyone is able to get their goodies!

so got my strange potion, (love!!! what an amazing gloss) and my eye shadows today, was a bit sad that my hibiscus is on back order and i dont get to play with it yet, but heres hoping it comes in after the 26th like mac CS told me. i absolutely love Sun Blonde what a strange but pretty color. Short Shorts I thought might be too ashy on me at first (nc30-ish) but with the other colors it was very nice. Saffron I felt was the one I needed to work with a bit more to get better color pay off and blending, which disappointed but its still workable. Surf USA, what a pretty color. very pigmented and smooth. all in all these are really fun shadows, the only one i didnt get was the grey one and now im wishing i had..

Any idea if MAC will send us Hibiscus? Is there any hope? When I got a backorder notice for Mehr l/s from Mickey Contractor collection, MAC never sent me the lippie. Should I head to my counter tomorrow?

Okay, this is my first post. Shontay, you don't know me from a crack in the wall, but you're a good case for purchasing 2 lippies at a time. That looks epic on you! Second, I'm wondering if MAC will do what they did with the Mighty Aphrodite blush and just keep bringing it back. I kid you not, I got one last month and it sold out the first day that the Wonder Woman collection came out. MAC just kept offering it. Hibiscus is still on the Bloomies site for those of you who want it. I'm on the fence still. I got all of the shadows and a huge car repair bill, so money is tight. I can probably mix something close using some existing items. I do makeup, so it's kind of necessary to whip things up from time to time. It won't be a dupe, but it won't cost me $15.50 + shipping, either. Still, I have that lemming on my back that's whispering "buy it, buy it" in my ear. Which brings me to my third point: it means the world to be able to come here and have people understand the odd, twisted relationship that I have with MAC and the all-consuming love that I have for makeup. End of Oprah moment.

Since MAC.com CS is encouraging customers to look for hibiscus at other stores, I think going to a counter to buy it tomorrow is a definate yes!
