MAC - Surf Baby Discussion

Hmmm... I'm honestly not sure how much I like vs. how much I can pass on. I suppose that it's a question of how tight (or not) money is at the time. I'm mystified as to why they're re-promoting Mocha, which is a permanent colour anyway, but whatever. I can skip. Saffron I have, but it's nice to know that those who missed out with the MC collection will have a chance to get it- in special packaging even.

For my part, this is what might interest me:

Lipstick
Hibiscus
Bust Out! (assuming it doesn't look like a lot of other purples... the photo looks like Violetta, but I said that about Style Curve as well)
Eyeshadow
Short Shorts
Swell Baby
Lipglass
Krazy Kahuna (maybe- looked original enough, although it's hard to tell)
Crushed Metallic Pigments
Summer Stash
Surf the ocean
The eye shadows I'm iffy about, but they both looked nice enough. At the very least, I love me my grey shadows, so that one is quite likely. If it weren't for those damn crushed metal pigments, this would be a reasonably cheap haul. I ended up skipping the SCF ones, though, because I found they looked too messy... who knows what I'll think of these?

Although I'm glad the eyeshadow and lipglass I liked were actually the one I already have (Saffron & Strange Potion)... The ones I'm interested in are:
- The grey e/s (depending on the swatch)
- Hibiscus l/s (want a vibrant coral)
- The off white eye pencil.

The teal pigments are also looking great... but most of the time I didn't have the patience to put them on (problem with fallouts).

Ahhhh! I just spent extra trying to get Saffron sent from a Pro store, I should have just waited haha.

Hibiscus lipstick looks beautiful in the promo.

I'm thinking Hibiscus, possibly Bust Out depending on swatches, My Paradise and the crush metals. I wanted the pink/purple ones last time, but didn't get around to them with so much else in that collection. I've just looked on ebay, and there are loads for sale. One such set is from the seller that I just bought a bunch of fake eyeshadows and a fake Superglass from, and she's got it up for £14.99 with free postage, so I can't help wondering if these have been faked as well.

Nothing else really takes my fancy, until I see swatches, of course

Yeah colour story! The shadows look really nice. I think i want all, but the lightest. I don't know what else i want. Maybe a blush, Hibiscus l/s and a gloss, we'll see.

SAFFRON willbe back!!!! GIRLS this is major! I'll need at least 2 more of this color. If you have med-dark brown skin, Saffron is a great crease color when working with blues and purples.

So much to take in today! I like the way the yellow shadow looks... I wonder what the finish will be. Love Hibiscus, the purple lipstick, and I will probaly pass on the glosses. Clear gloss over my lipsticks will be fine for me this year. I am getting the Beach Grils blush for sure. I can see myself doing just a little bit of damage on this collection. Just a few things to update my little summer MU stash. Nothing major.

The promo pics are not that great. Too grungy (for lack of better words) for MAC promo pics in my opinion. The MU is not clear... and come on, board shorts??? Its like they are trying to take a page from the Hollister store, but failing misserable at it. TTB had wonderful beachy photos compared to this one. I hope its just a prelim photo and the real photos are just not leaking yet.

oh, and MAC skimmped on white boxes. I like when SE packaging has matching boxes...

...after seeing the color story, it looks like i will be saving my money for surf trips. ha! i can't believe beach bound wasn't re-promoted. the only things i want are: a blush, bronzer, bronzer stick and lip gloss.

I must admit im actually kinda getting excited for this collection. Im thinking about maybe skipping Quite Cute Collection all together or ONLY get (1) l/s and maybe the quad.

I slept on Saffron from the Mickey Collection, so im def picking it up this time around !!!!!!!!!!!! Plus some other things

from the pics i want the coral lippie, a face powder. sucker for the flower! possibly the coral lipgloss, and definitely the off white pencil

the shadows, i'll have to see swatches, but im a shadow fiend!

how different is saffron to other oranges and corals that have come out before, i have both the corals from to the beach and the one from spring colour forecast and i have off the page from make up art and red brick, do i need saffron, has anyone got comparison pics?

The blush looks like it's the same size as an MSF, and there also seems to be a dark teal pencil.

I never tried metal pigment stacks before so I may pick up Surf the Ocean stack. I do wish they repromoted some solar bits like black ore! Aside from that there's not much else I want. I still cringe at the packaging lol.

hmmm... looks like theres some good stuff, not a lot of repromotes thats good. But I know this haul wont be as big as my QC haul.
I already have the purple stack, but I'm def getting the blue/teal one! Like the look of Good Lovin gloss. If Hibiscus l/s looks like it will be good for spring. Excited to see the shadow swatches
