Am I the only one who doesn't like the design on My Paradise? I think it's kinda cheesy or unexciting. It's not that drop dead gorgeous seahorse on Marine Life or even the pretty flowers from Fashion Flower. In the end it's still about the actual product(it's not exciting to me anyway), but I was expecting something to make me go WOW in terms of design.

I'm not really feeling this collection as a whole. The packaging and the colours of the products. MP is pretty, but I think they could have done much better and something more beautiful and unique. The collection is available here since a couple of days and I see all the hauls and pics, and really want to be excited, but I'm not. I'm not getting anything else, this is the least exciting collection for me since I've been into MAC.

I am not wowed by the design or the collection as a whole. I have been much more excited about getting the new Chanel & Nars summer products. Normally I want to get most of the products from MAC summer lines. This year I want maybe 2 things - hibiscus & one of the pigment stacks. Maybe I will also get the ugly yet unique sun blonde shadow.

I just saw a Surf Baby video by a woman of color and it has completely turned me off from the pigment stack. In turn it's tripled my excitement about Hibiscus(I might end up with 2 depending on my financial situation at that time). I am also scratching off the gilded white eyeliner. I have a Chanel liner called Rose Plantine for my waterline and I think it'll be more flattering than the gilded white. In the Flighty post I said I would exchange the bounce shadows for the pigment stack but no way now. I might use it to get another 217 brush and I don't think I own Nylon yet(how is that possible?).

I realy like this collection indeed ... maybe it's because I haven't seen the biggest and more beautiful past MAC collections since I'm almost new to MAC, but I like the packaging, range of colors (waaaaarm), I prefer matte lipsticks because are long lasting (candy yum yum is the best I have) but they are cute anyway, eyeshadows are beautiful...and I'm falling in love with Summer Stash... that purple pigment is awsome *_____* .. I love everything I can put on my lips .. but my boyfriend doesn't so I shouldn't buy too many lipglasses

Can I ask what turned you off to the pigment stacks? I know I am not a WOC, but thought maybe the reason might still make me reconsider.
The colors, the texture, the messy element. The lightest color seems too sheer, the gold seems to brash. I think Sun Blonde is a better alternative. The second lightest color can be duped. I think the blue is the only worthwhile, flattering color for me, personally and blue green pigment comes close enough for me. So, the price, the colors, the texture all adds up to a skip.

Hmm. That does make a lot of sense, and I have blue green pigment too. Thanks!

After seeing the dupes section on Temptalia, I have to say that my list has dropped a lot. Swell Baby, Krazy Kahuna and Bust Out are all probably passes for me, because, nice though they may be, they're too close to things that I already have.

So for now, I want:

Sun Blonde
Surf USA
Hibiscus (pending swatches)

Seeing as I love purples so much, I may cave when I see Bust Out in person, but I really think it looks a lot like things that I already have. I'd rather put my money towards things that look newer, more distinctive. More money for Semi-Precious.
I'm starting to feel the same way. I think I can settle for Pret-a-Papier gloss as well as a few others. I skipped Temper Tantra from Peacocky, so there's really no reason for me to be going crazy over KK because they are pretty similar in color. Final, final, final list: Hibiscus, Sun Blonde...and that's it. I am proud of myself, but also kinda sad. I really wanted an awesome Summer collection.

And now that I've checked out all the incredibly helpful swatches here... I might drop Hibiscus as well. It's lovely, but looking at some colours that are close to it, I think I could do a pretty good approximation with things I already own. Toxic Tale patted down plus a dab of VG Cyndi lipglass should do the trick. Yikes. I know what you mean about feeling a bit sad. Last year was exceptional, because I normally don't care for summer collections, but I'm really starting to miss going into a Mac mania for a new launch.
I need Hibiscus because I only have one Toxic Tale and it's looking pretty worn down. Also, I love colors like that and it will probably be easier for me to work with b/c of my dry lips. I still wish it were a lustre, but that's OK.

It does look like a lovely colour, for sure. My logic is sort of the same as yours, but in reverse- I have TT but I don't think I've worn it more than two or three times since I bought it.

Sadly, my laptop "died". And because I`m a Mac girl all the way, those macbooks pro don`t come cheap. Sigh, i`ll probably skip everything till July and than only a little haul. Maybe I`ll find the 2 items I want in the recycle bin later this year. I couldn`t think you could get so attached to a laptop, but it`s my fun and work there

You didn't turn me off of the pigment. Usually if I want something I don't second guess myself and the pigment stacks and My Paradise I have been second guessing on so that means I will be fine without them. I'm waiting for that I will not be able to sleep until I have that moment. You are always a big help to me Shontay
