Well, I hauled my haulage today and wound up adding a few things to my already huge pile. I got, as planned:
Krazy Kahuna (wildest brown in town)
Hibiscus (excellent color, but then again I was one of the biggest ravers over XXXhibitionist here too)
Surf USA (I usually hate teals, because they're too blue. This one is PERFECT.)
Sun Blonde (Great for green eyes)
Surf the Ocean (more on this later)
but I also snapped and bought:
Bust Out! (worked much better today, since I've got a little more color than I did when I swatched it last, plus I made sure to go in with bronzer on)
Blue Noon (darker and greener than last year's teal pencil, which I passed on - the green makes all the diff for me)
Summer Stash (they wound up getting a last minute shipment in yesterday and had tons of this - half a full drawer full of just pigments)
Lush Light Bronze Careblend (I am just too in love with the Careblend formula and my only other bronzer is a somewhat sparkling cream with lighter coverage)
Now, my thought process on Summer Stash worked like this...At first I was going to skip it, since how many neutrals do you need, blah blah blah. HOWEVER, I gave it a try on top of a coat of Reward Yourself Big Bounce and woah nelly....if anyone was scratching their heads over the point of the BBS, let me tell you something. Combined with these neutral and somewhat sheer colors in Summer Stash, you get the absolutely most gorgeous, multifaceted, iridescent wash of shimmer, like you are gazing into a magical crystal ball or a sun-dappled lake. The BBS brings out all the color in these pigments without adding anything to their opacity. For someone who is really into weightless transparency and light and smoothness, this is a spectacular combo. I decided that cost-wise I could either get this stack and get 4 colors that are made extra gorgeous from the BBS, or buy individual MES with Semi-Precious and spend twice as much for the same colors and effect I want. I've worn it all day with zero fallout or fading and I only needed the most minute amount of pigment. It's true that I use last year's Crushed Metal piggies a lot - the lavender is one of my go-to brow colors, so I'm already a fan. I've also had great luck with my BBS choices, thanks to patient, helpful MAs who gave me samples of everything. A lot of my old shadows are going on the back burner this summer in lieu of BBS + Crushed Metal, period. This combo just looks so much more modern than standard shadow or even the usual wet/dry MES. Your total love crush mileage may vary, but I for one am thrilled.
