I've used the gilded white eye pencil under my lower lash line plain & then also under the lower lash line's dark liner - it acts like a beautiful subtle highlighter for your under eyes

One of my favorite MUA (who is also a drop dead gorgeous WOC) told me about a beautiful eye she did using Saffron. She used "something light" as the highlight, then Expensive Pink on the lid and then smoked the whole thing out with Saffron in the crease. I haven't tried it but she did show me what Saffron with Expensive Pink layered looks like. Gorgeous!

Last year I had to go on an exhaustive search for the elusive Marine Life powder locating it through a hot tip here at a Macys on the east coast!!! Secured one way ahead of time this year. I ended up with 2 ML's one for use and the other for purely decoration purposes. It held the coveted top shelf on my little MAC altar and now shares it with MP What can I say, I think they are beautiful to look at!
Some of the things I passed on, have enough bronzing products. A few of the items came with our grattis, * I swapped NE Lipstick with a co worker who had BO Lipstick...NE made me look like a cadaver
Loved the color on other people though.
LOVE Ocean Dip!!! Im such a sucker for the blue nail hues, this looks amazing as a summer pedi! Ditto for the Surf The Ocean Stack I think I may go back for Hibiscus...pretty unique color.
I look a little ragged here..worked all day and drove home in some wicked humidity that even blot powder was not going to save me from Im wearing Saffron, Surf USA,Sun Blonde, Short Shorts, ML, Strange Potion, Gilded White and Ocean Dip

I LOVE Saffron!!! Mine is from the MC collection, I didn't take mine to compare, but both myself & the MUA thought the new one looked a bit different.

Thanks! Im one of those "out of site, out of mind" people...designed this set up so I actually use different products instead of always going to my favs because they were the easiest to find

i got my macy's order, and thanks to my in ability to operate before 8 AM and my id taking over at that point (545AM) i found a hibiscus in my order, lol!
I like it okay. it's pulling really orange on me, so i'll have to play with it. using Elegant's patented dab and smoosh method, however, makes it really soft and purtiful.
Saffron with no primer pulls oddly dark coral on me, with a primer it's more orange/brick reddish. Sun Blonde is cool. without a primer it's just a wash of yellow, but with it it has a sheen and the subtle green that everyone has mentioned before. I like it. hee! (I tried this on UDPP, btw. I have so much of it to use up!).
i didn't go to the counter like i wanted to. I got side tracked by ice cream sandwiches, which always take priority, lol, so i didn't get to look at the stacks and other shadows. maybe tomorrow.
still no word on my backorder, but i'll get Bust Out Tuesday, and just might slip a surf USA in a cart somewhere since i got a surprise cash back deposit.(i had to use that smiley, it cracks me up!)

DID ANYBODY ORDER SURF BABY FROM BLOOMINGDALES.COM??????????????? I ordered Hibiscus and I checked on status and it says CANCELLED when i never cancelled anything. Then I check on their site and Surf Baby is gone.
so... Bloomingdales fucked me up, then MAC did too with the whole BACKORDER crap....
I give up!!!!!!! ugh!!!!!!!!! furious
my bank statement has this for both mac backorder and the fake cancel from bloomingdales:

Yep - I agree with your take on Hibiscus
I went to the store today to pick up an empty quad for my mom and got Hangin' Loose as planned. I think I'll paint my nails with it tomorrow. I also picked up Viva Glam Gaga 2 (finally!) and it will never replace my HG nude (The Faerie Glen), but it's pretty nice. And hey- the money was for charity. I can't complain at all.
So, even though I only ended up with Hibiscus (2) and Hangin' Loose, I'm very happy with what I got.

I didn't go check the collection today. For me, it's miracle! Usually, I go back to my counter for more. I'm happy with my small haul, but part of me still want to play with the testers. Bad girl.

Went today for my Surf Baby! appointment at the MAC store. Here's a pic of the makeover one of the MA's (she's awesome but not at this MAC regularly) did on me using Surf Baby!
On my eyes she used a brown paint pot (I forget the name) and used the brown pigment in the Summer Stash pigment stack. When she went for the Saffron she saw me wince (I didn't like how warm the color looked) but she said to trust her and she'd like to try it in my crease. She did and it looked awesome against the brown pigment. For an extra pop, she used the beige color from the pigment stack to add a extra pop of flash on my lids. On my waterline she used the Blue Noon liner and Surf USA to make it stand out more. I was feeling extra glam so I went for the 'Kim Kardashian' false eyelashes and had the black Penultimate liner to line my upper lid. I've never done my waterline but I have to say the cool contrast of Blue Noon/Surf USA countered the warm upper lid and really brought the look together.
On my face she used the sheer SPF 15 tint and the careblend powder. Used the Billionaire Bronze to contour and Gilty Bronze to highlight. On my lips she used Auburn and Chestnut lip liner, then Hibiscus and then put Strange Potion over it (she said she wasn't a fan of how Krazy Kahuna would look on me and I agreed). Hibiscus is one of those colors that looks nice on me but Strange Potion on top kicks it up to another level.
I saw Sun Blonde and it swatched too mustard on me.
Swell Baby didn't do much for my skin tone and Saffron didn't seem all that pigmented. I passed on the pigment stacks as I already have so many pigments and I'm pretty sure I have Veluxe Pearl shades that would match Summer Stash (Twinks, Plum Dressing, All That Glitters/Dazzlelight, Da Bling). Passed on Blue Noon as I have Undercurrent and UD 24/7 in Covet. I only wound up buying the 'Kardashian Lashes', My Paradise and Hibiscus.
Apparently My Paradise sold out so early that they had the tester 'hidden' and only brought it out to try on me as I'd called two days before to have My Paradise and Hibiscus held for me. So I'm done with Surf Baby and no more LE stuff for me until the Christmas collections come out.
