MAC - Surf Baby Discussion

Thank you!! I hope it too... I really can't understand what happened in the production process... But MAC's response was very extensive and the concern about the product condition is genuine. I sent about 5 or 6 pics with the oil, the box, and everything...

Is Tan-Tint Bronzer Stick available anywhere still?

If you can't get hold of Tan-Tint, and you are not set on a cream product, you might want to go for the Careblend powder in Gold-Go-Lightly, which is very similar in color - and it's also much easier to blend if you want to use it for contouring.

Hey girls...

I haven't told you about my order mess... Agh... I ordered one pencil (white), saffron and surf the ocean pigments... when I opened the box I noticed golden pigment all over the box and went directly to check the surf the ocean stack... I was surprised to see the lid broken, but it was way worse once I opened it... It was filled with some kind of oil, and the golden pigment wasn't powder anymore... it was just a smelly thick paste... just gross...

Obviously I took a lot of pictures and emailed mac about this... They told me they will reship it, hopefully it will be a good one.

I'll put a photo to show you... you can't see the oil because when I opened it a lot of it went down my hands and clothes

It looks like it just melted, that's too bad. I hope you get a replacement soon. Do you live in the South by any chance? When I was living in the South, I was very wary of cosmetic online orders as 100 Fahrenheit just melts everything within minutes.

So what are the pigments in this stack then? I ask this because when I saw the testers in the store they didn't really seem like "pigments." The texture was a bit off and they seemed to have some type of liquid or oil in them, especially that gold one...

There are 4 crushed metal pigments in the "Surf The Ocean" stack. The gold one seems to have some varying consistency issues, "melted, oily, odd smelling, paste-like, or very little quantity", The texture of the other three is consistent with that of a crushed metal pigment. These came out with last years Spring Color Forecast collection as well. High metallic finishes but larger particles then those found in the regular pigments. I find them to be closer to the Solar Bits. Despite the funky gold one, I LOVED the other three colors! Highly pigmented and really unusual colors :)

Oh, ok. Thank You! I was all confused about them because I had been hearing horror stories about the gold one and didn't like how it looked(though I loved the others in the stack and the gold would be awesome if it would be fine like the others). I wanted it and then didn't because of those reasons. So, hmm...maybe I should look into finding it or catching it when it pops back on the site. I really don't understand how it keeps going from sold out to available...

Wh00t Wh00t, I managed to score Swell Baby (the one I wanted) in a swap.
Sending her Nymphette lipglass for the eyeshadow this week.
Hopefully, I'll get the eyeshadow in a week or so!

So I did a little shopping last night because my class ended early, and picked up Solar Riche bronzer. I'm wearing it right now as a blush, it looks sooo pretty!

hahah Ok, so when they bring stuff back I get a lil bit angry.

1) they should be more organized and have everything under control and in stock with accurate quantities from the get go.
2) people see "sold out" and they HAVE to hunt items elsewhere, feed their first born son to "MUA's alligators", or participate in experimental surgery to find them "fake or not" on evilbay.

I found it at retail price, but... I'd be pissed if I payed 40-50 bucks to get it once it was sold out, and then its back! :O

I'm o.k. if certain products from an LE collection sell out after a couple of weeks. After all, that is what LE is all about. If stuff hangs around too much, nobody will feel the urge to buy it and eventually lose interest. I assume that some items are easier to produce again, so eventually they show up. I was surprised to see STO coming back again. Where did MAC dig out the melted gold, muaahhh.

As for paying 50 bucks for an item on ebay (I assume to a product that was not more than $22 at regular retail price), I just stay away from it. I bid on ebay up to a certain point, but then I just led it go. After all, it's just make up.

I still wish MAC would make available larger quantities of the "hot" products. But who knows, maybe they do and somebody (e)buys them all in one go.
