MAC Too Fabulous Discussion

I bought Loud & Lovely and Double Dare, but I'm not sure if they are keepers. They don't blow me away and the texture isn't any better than a lipglass, IMO. That and it faded quicker actually.

Didn't buy any liners, but they seemed creamier than the liners in the perm line. Mouth Off was pretty, but I had to be realistic about how much wear I would get out of it. Meh.

Does anyone else think that RIT swatches like By Candlelight MSF? I'm so disappointed in RIT as a blush. I already own By Candlelight so RIT is being returned fo sho. More money for LoL!

Checked these out today right before the mall closed. I only had 10 minutes so I targetted the ones I knew I wanted to look at first.

I tried on and bought: Two Virtues, Buddy Up, Naked l/l, and In Synch l/l.

I swatched all the MB. RIT was so smooth and creamy! I loved it! However, I couldn't bring myself to buy it since I had Moon River and By Candlelight already.

Even though I thnk RIT is way better than Moon River.

I searched through looking for Two Virtues - purple ones too. They only had 4 left though, so most of them were pretty similar.

I swatched Chic Couple, Sun & Moon, and Bi-tone and they were all pretty nice! However, I couldn't bring myself to decide between any of them without trying any on, but they all seemed like I would have something like them already. Although, Sun & Moon surprised me -- I thought this was one that I could see myself possibly going back to take another look.

I thought they were all pretty glittery actually. Maybe not as much "glittery" but defaintly sparkly. Small, finely milled, not chunky.

The lipliners are nice, but I think they will work better with just gloss on top for me. They are quite light for NC40 and I tried it with lipstick but it was just too much of a contrast and not natural.

I did see the GMLOL items for pre-sale too. I loved the packaging online...but in person, I'm not so sure. It seems a little tacky to me.

I am very self consious about them, though they are not as bad as they could be... I don't have alot of discoloration, but more actual pit scars. Will the murad stuff help at all with those?

I feel ya. Try UD Complexion Primer Potion (Pore Perfecting Makeup Base). It's amazing for making scars look smoother and smaller. It feels very comfortable on. Nothing works better for me. That effect doesn't last after you wash it off though

Hyaluronic products have a similar concept I believe but for mature skin.

Hearing that TV is similar to Love Rock just makes me want to change my mind about skipping this collection!!! I missed out on my chance with Love Rock AND Sweetness.

But I suspect that if I order it online, I might get one with lots of violet veining. I want a majority pink-colored one! I hope my local store still has some for me to search through by hand.

I only picked up Two Virtues but i freaking LOVE IT!! Im NC45 and if you're around my color or darker you might want to BLEND WELL and use a light hand with it because the silver shimmer in it may leave you looking ashy. A light hand and blending well gives you the perfect pink/lavender blushy cheek.

I want to go back and get everything but Rhapsody in Two. I passed on the creme lippys and lip pencils. I can't see myself paying $13 for a LE lip pencil when there's other brands that make similar colors for $1 or less.

Ok I saw this collection today at last! The standouts for me were definitely the lipliners!
yes.gif
I'm going to get In Synch and Mouth Off for sure. Maybe Trimmed In Pink too, I think it'll go great with my Lustering l/s. Despite the rave reviews of Naked l/l, I'm not sure if I should get it because I don't do nude lips at all, I just look bad in anything that's paler than my natural lip color. Boldly Bare swatched brown, and I'm not exactly a fan of brownish lip colors.

For the blushes, Rhapsody In Two, Bi-Tone, and Buddy Up were my faves. I'm wondering if there are dupes for these colors? Trying to save money here, because I already have more than enough blushes. Bi-Tone kinda looked like Hot Planet in the pot (at least to me). Rhapsody In Two is just gorgeous!
sigh.gif
I definitely can't use it as a blush though. I'm hoping I have a MSF/blush that is similar to it, but right now I can't think of any...

I don't think you necessarily have to do nude lips to use Naked Liner. Naked Liner really wipes out your natural lip color so the true color of the lipstick or gloss you top it with really comes out.

You have a point there. I'm not a gloss person, but if I were to put on lipstick I think I'll rather put on a l/l that's in the same color family to make the overall effect more intense. Anyway, I really do need to try and save more money. Sigh.

yes this is why i bought naked - to make lipsticks look more 'true to tube colour'!

you can always just use concealer if you didn't want to buy naked liner - that blanks out the colour of your lips just as well

it's what i always used to do!

I saw this collection yesterday and ended up buying only the Trimmed In Pink lip liner. This is a perfect match with Speak Louder and Lustering. I hope that MAC will make these lip liners permanent.

I also swatched the blushes TV and RIT. I thin that RIT would work well as a highligher.Though I liked both of them I decided to skip, because I have way to many blushes.

Does the Naked liner change the colour of the lippie on top of it? I mean if I put for example a bright pink on top does it pale/mute it in anyway?

I picked this up the other day the only thing from this collection.
Yay for sticking to my list :] I haven't had a chance to play with
it too much but it does blank out my annoyingly pigmented lips
its really cute under speed dial and gives me more options when
getting paler lipsticks which I usually avoid. I just tried the liner
under gaga lippie and I like it, but strangely not as much as I do
on its own. But... finally I can have a super pale lips!

Can anyone tell me how it compares with lip erase in relation
to how the lipstick applies/staying power?

Yeah, I agree with you, that Bi-Tone looked like Hot Planet. Can anyone do a swatch comparison for us?

As for RIT, I think it's similar to By Candlelight but RIT seems alot more bright and shimmery. By Candlelight seems more subtle and natural.

I picked up In Synch and Trimmed in Pink. I almost picked up Naked, but I was trying to limit myself to two.

But I wore In Synch under Gaga yesterday and yuck! Definitely not a good look for NC 25 me.
thmbdn.gif
I had to layer a touch of another pink lipstick and a gloss to keep my lips from looking, well, dead. Gaga looks much better on me over plain lips; I'm just not light enough or dark enough to rock the "true" color of it.

I'm going to try In Synch with some of my other lip colors and see how that works.

I passed on the blushes; I'm not much of a blush person and sometimes my skin doesn't care for the mineralize powder products. And with the glosses being perm, I figure I can wait on those.

I thought Buddy Up , Just Superb were very pretty.

Couldn't decide if I liked Mouth Off or not because sometimes it looked too orange then in other lighting it seemed like a pretty light corally peach
