Rant: I find it quite sad that members of the German "Beautyjunkies" forum are very disrespectful in continually stealing my images from Specktra despite the very obvious and friendly warning to contact me if they want to use my images. Didn't your mother tell you that you should not steal? Shame on you, Austernhelferin (which is one of the administrators on the German forum).
I wish we could do something about it. I'm sorry they keep doing that.

People have no concept of the idea of "intellectual property." I am sorry this happens.

Yes, it is very sad. I can even relate if a member copies it who is (yet) not educated about intellectual property theft, but if the administrator of a forum does steal, it is beyond belief and utterly unprofessional.

You can always do what I used to do and make a watermark that says, "This image is for use on Specktra.net only. If you are seeing this image anywhere other than that it is because some unethical individual or site has stolen them.

If it was particularly blatant (i.e. stealing a graphic I created) or a site that had finally wore my patience thin was involved, I would replace the word "individual" with "douchebag". lol

Yeah, I lost my patience after "T" had been caught red-handed stealing info from this site. Thus the animosity towards her site/practices.

grrr that is so damn frustrating!!! I know myself as a blogger this has happened so I now put my name on my images and if I take product releases from this site, I ALWAYS have a link back to here with credits! But I would never steal swatches from another person!!

I only ever blog collection information, I think stealing swatches is stupid and not a personal touch to what you really think of a product

I got her name wrong. So here it comes again. Shame on you, Aromatisch (Austernfischerin) from Beautyjunkies.de for intellectual property theft!

Thanks, hun. If it happens again, I will simply stop posting swatches or reviews and the offending forum will receive a letter from a lawyer. Enough is enough!

I'm not interested in single product in this collection. I didn't get anything from the first MW collection either, so I kinda expected this. I don't know why these couture collections always leave me cold, Gareth Pugh is the only one I've ever liked. Somehow many of the Mac couture collections seem cheap to me when they're suppose to be luxe (again, GP being the exception).

and that I think that it's not nice that they keep linking to your posts and swatches even though they know you're not happy about it. It's disresepctul to continue doing so IMO if you know that person did not give you permission to do it. But I am really not sure if linking is as bad as stealing pics and posting them, I'm totally confused about how the legal situation is, I'd love some insight on this.
Nevertheless it is sad that they keep doing it without your permission. I'm sorry they disrespect you like that.

On topic: I'm skipping this collection completely, since it's only available in one store over here and apparently not online. And I'm broke anyway, LOL.

Thanks for alerting me to the issue in the first place. Your friendship is much appreciated.

I totally agree!! Which is why I (said admin from the German forum) OF COURSE linked back to this forum and credited Mac-Guy in every way, netiquette and legal requirements tell me to do. :) NO pictures from Mac-Guy were posted, I just put a link to them. Proof: http://beautyjunkies.inbeauty.de/forum/showpost.php?p=9622351&postcount=26

So Mac-Guy, back off!

sorry but he has every right to be pissed! And if you are the admin there then why did you steal plenty of my information too? colour stories and such that you never ever link back to specktra with. and yet when i email you i get ignored - quite frankly it's just sad and rude and it give me a very low opinion of your site.

Honey, if you can't respect that a person does not want to be linked -- and this was stated in big fat letter -- it is rather pathetic. A simple PN to ask friendly if you can link my swatches would have been sufficient, but obviously, you are rude enough to ignore such reminders.

As Lou pointed out, it is not the first time that members of beautyjunkies have copied information (color stories, etc...) without acknowledging Specktra as a source. I'm very sorry but your "veryaroma" attitude leaves a very bad taste in my mouth.

Even worse, if are the admin of a forum, you set a truly stellar example. Bravo for being such a great role model.

I am truly very sorry if that happened!! Personally, I never posted any information of anyone without linking back and giving credit and we do try to ensure that the members do so as well.
If you (any of you) feel your copyrights have been violated, please drop me a PM here (if possible with a link) and I will look into the matter immediately.
(As for emails that go to the site owners, we admins don't always get all the info or it takes a while - the site is owned by a company. That can be a pain. Sorry for that!!)

I am not fishing for members here or something (obviously, wrong language...) I just want to make sure, it is understood that in this particular case, I did not steal any info and that in general, we do not tolarate such thing on our site. That is why I posted the link to my post, so you can judge for yourself and see, that credit was given where credit was due.
I realise that Mac-Guy is a valued member in your community and that you don't know me at all. I just want to give you the possibility to contact me personally here on Specktra if there are any problems with our site - to keep the peace.

I'm not sure there will be anything I will want in this collection. There were some nice colours in the last MW collection but I wasn't willing to pay the inflated prices unless I was really in love with them. I didn't get anything from Gareth Pugh either.

Except that it isn't stealing when the person credits Specktra...the problem most people seem to have on here is that the credit isn't in a font big enough to take up the entire page.
