MAC x Marcel Wanders 2 (Spring 2012) Discussion

You are right it isn't stealing but it is a common courtesy to ask the owner of the pictures if they can be posted-bloggers do this all the time. Mac-Guy has explicitly asked that every single time that he posts a picture. There is no excuse for not asking. And no need for your snarkiness about giving the appropriate amount of credit, it's too bad you don't see where we are coming from.

Sorry if this was already posted but I'm afraid I love the packaging and some of lippies that Mac-Guy posted is making me want these expensive things

Oh darn! Richelle!...why??????

These are so pretty. They look very elegant. They're going to be so very very very expensive. This is overwhelmingly very tempting. I really need to make a budget & see if I can treat myself to something (or somethings...lol) with this collection. Thank you for sharing Richelle!

Oh gosh, that compact really looks stunning. I'm almost glad this won't be available online here, so I can't even be tempted to order it.

I wish MAC would release just one collection per month, my wallet can't keep up with all of this.

I don't mean about the pictures, I mean about them saying that a certain person has "stolen" color stories from here, despite the fact that this certain person has always linked back to here whenever she did get them from here. And when she didn't get them from here, she linked back to whatever site she did get them from. I don't see how the color stories somehow belong to ANY blog anyway.

I was hoping one of the face powders would be light enough for me to use (well, other than as a bronzer!) but I am sort of glad it wouldn't work because I would be compelled to purchase it with the gorgeous packaging and it would be expensive. I love the look of the whole collection.

I can see Miss Dynamite's point here.

For me, I think the time and effort I put when I do swatches, I'm glad if my pictures get spread. It means more people may find them useful. And I don't need any kind of credit what-so-ever. Certainly I would not fuss about spreading info (Mac colour stories for example) that wasn't mine in the first place.

I've never been able to do swatches since all I have is a crappy webcam to take pics with, but if I did, I wouldn't care much if people reposted them, I would prefer if they linked back to me but I wouldn't get all upset if they didn't. However...I can understand people getting upset over that since they did take the time to swatch the products and take pics. I just never understood the fuss over color stories since that info belongs to MAC.

The lighter one is NC/NW15 and has a translucent quality. Unless you are much lighter than NC/NW15, you should be fine. I love the Sheer Mystery as a setting powder as it does not cake up at all.

I think the "giving credit" situation should be addressed as the person posting the images asks it to be. Period! If one person doesn't care if someone takes an image and uses it, fine. But if someone (in this case Mac-Guy) specifically gives instructions on how he'd like his images and reviews used, that should be followed by the letter. I am MORE than grateful for the time & effort that is taken on such a task... Swatching, photographing in the proper lighting, giving detailed reviews and recommendations, etc. If you enjoy his images and reviews so much that you want to share them... That is wonderful! However, RESPECT the wishes of the individual who invested so much time that you would want to use them in the first place! Mac-Guy... It would be crushing to all the users here if you got so frustrated with this situation that you no longer wanted to share your photos and reviews. Your opinions and guidance mean a great deal to me as a consumer. I value your skills and effort immensely! Please be reminded how helpful you are. Despite the occasional inconsideration of others, we would miss your contributions here greatly if you decided to allow them to affect how much you are appreciated here!

I have missed any mac chrome items... are they actually metal packaging or are they plastic with silver "chrome like" paint?

I haven't read through the whole thread, so sorry if this has already been answered.

The chrome finish is metal (or felt like it, at least). The packaging of the mystery powders are magnetic, so it definitely isn't plastic.

Also, I'm SHOCKED people want the 187 brush?!?! It's to die for, but so is the price O_O. Same with the expen$ive brush clutch. But I guess price doesn't matter once you're hooked lol

It's plastic with a chrome coating similar to the Diana Ross collection, but in silvery white packaging. It is not a metal case as the GP compact.
