I havent read all the comments here yet, but is this the thread for the people who are excited about this and not the ones who want to talk shit about her love life? I used to be a big Rihanna fan, i actually like Rated R album the best, because i was also in an abusive relationship so i could relate to her music. I actually relate to her inmnay ways, like going back to him and smoking weed. She is a grown ass woman, and a very succussful one at that! To all those who say she is a rold model, that is the parents job, not a celebrity. Her recent songs rather annoy me tho, she is on all the time its annoying. She looked beautiful at the grammys, and she rocks her bikinis and baseball hats, she always looks good!
Anyways, i was just wondering why there is two different threads for this?
I am rather excited, i like the look of Riri Woo and will get something from each collection i hope! the holiday set sounds awersome and the fall collection is so pretty, i want to know whats in that compact?! lol Mac is going to give me a break this year it seems!!
My point exactly, to make this a discussion about her love life is unnecessary. I have been in an abusive relationship, and I'm not posting this to have a pity party, but rather to let you guys know it's an unfortunate common occurrence. After being in it, I realize how scary it is, how life changing it is for someone you love to treat you that way, and it doesn't always end well with a lot of women being murdered. I have never been so terrified in my life but my feelings about that person has not changed. To sit here and bash someone for being in love and forgiving the person who abused them, not knowing the full story, I find that to just be wrong. Chris could have been through some things in his life and could've seeked help for his issue(s). And could very much now be a changed person. How is it fair to hang a negative issue over someone's head that happened years ago? It's as if people want her to be the Domestic Abuse spokeswoman! But if I ever happen to chose to be with my "abuser" after he's received help, I'll be damned if someone judges me for it. We're all here entitled to have our own opinion and feel however way we do, but I just didn't know every love story was perfect. I find it crazy that people have no respect for someone they don't know or interacted with personally. Like what did the girl do to you??!

This should be a post just on the makeup. Like another poster said, I don't recall not one negative thing being brought up about Marilyn Monroe. Getting on to the makeup, I own Ruby Woo and I think it's the cult LS - Kinda like orgasm is the cult blush. I have since moved on from it. My red progression looked like this: Ruby Woo > Russian Red > MAC Red with it progressively getting better! Now it seems as if the LE Reds prove to be best for me. But I'm very much interested in RiRi Woo being that she actually took the time to test it out on different skin tones. I'm looking forward to a color that should be flattering on all of us.

&I also think this collection should be celebrated as it is one that is unprecedented. What other collection featured a Retro Matte? What other celeb collection was spread into four parts?! A big congratulations for Rihanna being able to strive for continued success despite her negative experiences (and press).

I'm totally excited about this thread but comments like what I bolded truly bothers me. Unless you've been in a situation similar to hers, you truly do not understand what it's like. To call her DUMB for choosing to be with someone who physically assaulted her is uncalled for. In regards to her "cyber bulling", I agree it's wrong but it's only wrong because she's a celeb. Any other regular person commenting back on negative things said about them on the web wouldn't be called bullying.  My point exactly, to make this a discussion about her love life is unnecessary. I have been in an abusive relationship, and I'm not posting this to have a pity party, but rather to let you guys know it's an unfortunate common occurrence. yeah, how about that, in regards to MM.

This collection is extra special for all the reasons you mentioned. How about it also features a black woman, not just a collection using a black model. I'm not trying to get into those type of issues here, but its very rare for a mainstream, non black owned, cosmetic company to create a collection centered around a black woman. There's Covergirl Queen and I believe that's it. I hope I am not making this into a big thing, I just want to add a little something about the social significance of this collection that people may not realize. In the grand scheme of things this is so much more than someone's personal life.

Very true no one hasn't said anything negative when the MM collection came out and I didn't know there was negative things about MM until someone mentioned it in here. Even though the media loves to gossip about all celebrities the media LOVES to bring down black people especially when there is negative things they do. As of people we all feed into the gossip which probably most of it isn't true. I'm surprised a the fact that there is going to be 4 parts to the Rihanna collection and the packaging is gorgeous

According to the WWD article, RiRi Woo will be first, online in May. It will also be a part of each release. The Summer collection will be online, Fall MAC brick and mortar, and holiday on will be on counters.

I' m scarred about how dry it's gonna be but it seems it has a true cult following, everyone seems to think that it's the ultimate red lippy.i love retro looks so i' going to try to make it work
I own and love Ruby Woo. However, the formula is crap! For a similar colour but much superior formula try Nars Dragon Girl...they look identical on me but I wear the Nars way more coz it's not drying

I'm soooo excited for this!!! I'm actually not a Rihanna fan at all, but I'm a HUGE Ruby Woo fan! I seriously can't wait for another retro matte lipstick! Retro matte is by far my favorite finish, so I'm thrilled about this!

Like I said in another thread I was late to the Ruby Woo game. I only got it in the later half of 2012. I have to admit its not the first red I reach for. With the new formulation that MAC has for matte why would she go for a retro matte feeling. Unless it has a better staying power with the retro matte finish. Those of you that are Ruby Woo enthusiasts maybe you can fill me in?

Very interesting viewpoint. I will say that I hope to see MAC pair up with more WOC whether that be Sophia Loren or Sophia that is in those Pepsi commercials to even maybe a DIVA collection (of All skintones) with Faith Hill, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and maybe Patti LaBelle! Just to name a few....Just something to expand the respect for those beautiful iconic women who are of all skintones

Yup, it's all about the staying power! I can put in on in the morning, eat, drink, and not have to worry about it all day. Seriously...it just stays put. No lipstick on your teeth, or on your drink...it just stay glued to your lips. I love it.

Random: I wish they would do a retro matte collection or repromote the old matte collection from back in the day
