how did u get the laguna and the himalaya minis???? code??? :p
My NARS Cap Ferrat shadow trio arrived a day early!!! Along with it came the Laguna mini bronzer and the single shadow in Himalayas. Ladies, these colors are absolutely GORGEOUS! The shadows are well pigmented, go on smooth and take very little product to achieve color payoff. For darker skintones this a *must have*! The colors stay true and don't look or turn ashy. I don't have any colors like this in my stash. The Laguna bronzer is a nice little bonus. It's the size of the single shadow but on my NW43 skin it will serve as a nice pressed powder to touch up any shiny spots in my T-zone. I'm just glad it doesn't look ashy on me.

Anyways, on the pics!

I've been using some of this line for about a week now and love most everything.

Carthage is a little ~eh~ on me (NC15, highly pigmented lips) and I couldn't really be bothered with Bolero after the initial try, but Wonder and Mayflower are lovely (sort of My Lips But Orange-r and My Lips But Pinker, respectively) and comfortable. New Order is pretty disappointing, because the glitter just sort lays there (when it's not getting all over the place). Dogon is also awesome, especially when mixed.

For some odd reason this hasn't popped up in stores here in the UK, only online. I really wanted to check it out. I ended up buying stuff from the perm line.

annoyingly my package is still in transit! however what is good is that it arrived in the uk today! so wednesday should be the day for it to arrive. and i am not fussed that i am off work because i will pop to my store anyway because i'm getting my hair done that afternoon - so i can pick up my goodies and take them home with me! yay!

Yes to the first (the code I shared in the thread is: GOOD) but no to the second. Himalayas is a single shadow and that's the regular size. I included the pic to show folks just how big the Laguna 'mini' was.

In more NARS Summer 2011 news, the Sephora in JCPenney near me had the summer collection out! Here are my impressions of some of the other items:

Laguna Body Bronzer -- Meh. Hardly any smell (I have monoi oil from Tahiti and this smells nothing like it). The color is okay but sheers out to a mere glitter memory on me.

Laguna Multiple -- Awww yeah! If you are/were a fan of the Palm Beach multiple, you NEED this! Such a beautiful bronze shade...and works especially well on WOC. I would say that the South Beach multiple pulls more apricot and Laguna pulls more bronze. I'd definitely get this over the bronzer. Putting this on my 'list' for later this month.

Exotic Dance -- Meh. Colors okay but nothing to write home about. It showed up on my skin okay but was nothing that wowed me.

Dogon -- I agree with what Shontay and some others have said. The dark shade you can get anywhere but it's the taupe shade that makes this quad. I can't justify plunking down the cash for this just for the one color. On dark skin the taupe over the coal black does indeed look stunning.

Temptalia has swatches up of Wonder lipgloss but it pulls more red on her than orange. I remember Shontay's swatch of Wonder l/g was more orange than red. I know its probably bcuz of the difference in skintone. Hopefully on WOC it pulls more orange

@ Honybr & 2browneyes, does the wonder gloss pull more orange on you guys??
I'm late but yes, it does show up a pretty orange color. I love it!

The more pictures of Dogon I see, the more interested in it I become. I wish there were more pictures of the lighter shade layered over the darker shade though.

Btw, I think pictures at Temptalia are a little too saturated in color. So some colors might look more intense than they would be in real life.

Did everyone see the Temptalia review of Dogon? It may interest you. I can substitute the light shade for Patina, just fine. I can't give in, like I explained before. Also, I have to pass on the trio. I just lost my mind and bought a Chanel shadow duo. I had to. It's a fabulous green and I reach for greens much more than I reach for blues. Blue is my favorite color, though so go figure. I will substitute the trio with Freshwater and Aquadisiac. Don't bother to correct me. This is me rationalizing things and I'm sticking to it. :getyou:

I read the review, it still doesn't interest me. Actually I was never interested in the duo. I really want to get the trio because it is so pretty. I have so many things I want to get (besides) Nars brand . . . its crazy!

LMAO at the bolded. Oh I know the feeling. I don't even know how those shades compare, but no doubt you (and probably most of us) have something similar enough to fit the bill. I love how we rationalize purchasing some products and not purchasing others. I had the same mental process with some of the Peacocky eye shadows especially with Sex Appeal and Odalisque. People kept raving about them and I had to just keep blocking it out and thinking, (with Sex Appeal especially) "It's just like Cranberry... It's just like Cranberry..."

According to the official Nars Facebook page, Emma Stone wore Carthage pure matte lipstick at the 2011 Met Gala.

As it was said in another topic, Nordstrom is selling exclusive sets for the release of the book "MakeUp Your Mind: Express Yourself": one for the lips, one for the cheeks, an one for the eyes.
Nordstrom is also selling a "I Will Survive" gift set with a limited edition Deep Throat lipgloss, a Deep Throat blush ad a Sex Machine velvet matte lip pencil.

I'm still tempted by Dogon and I keep stalking my local Sephora to see if it's come in yet so I can swatch it for myself.

I'm glad that a lot of this collection is permanent so I can pace out my purchases. Carthage is pretty high on that list. LOL
