NARS Summer 2011

The Sephora by my office just got (most of) the summer collection in! I picked up New Order and Cap Ferrat today. Unfortunately, they didn't have Dogon yet (although they had a tester).

So I will have to make another trip for it ... or else just order it from the NARS website. I may just do that -- then I can get a foundation pump, too. Very annoying getting Sheer Matte out without a pump! That can keep me from making another trip to Sephora -- too much temptation (like Carthage), and I've been very, very bad the last few weeks anyway.

Thanks to everyone for the swatches!! I think I'm definitely going to have to get Cap Ferrat and Dogon, despite the fact that Dogon is a black shade... I don't have a blue-black already... OK, I'm stretching.

I was able to swatch and play with most of this collection on saturday but shocked as i am to say it- nothing really stood out to me. I tried New order on my cheeks but it had migrated onto the whole of my face within and hr so i left it. I cant put up with a glitter bomb face and i LOVE glitter !

well my goodies arrived! the trio is so beautiful! all three colours are really pigmented and smooth. very easy to work with. when filming my tutorial i found they blended easily and the payoff was great without having to build colour up. new order is very pretty but not really a blush - i used it as a highlight. i have only been wearing it for about an hour so i am not sure where the glitter will go just yet! i shall post swatches tomorrow because my camera is charging right now

The Eaton Centre Sephora just put out this collection today, everything was stocked up and the testers were barely touched. I picked up Dogon (duochromes are my weakness) and I couldn't resist getting the Cap Ferrat trio after I swatched it (no self control LOL), the colours are so pretty and apply smoothly. Also picked up the Angelika blush/Laguna bronzer duo with a mini Angelika lipgloss instead of New Order blush as it's too glittery for my taste.

The lippies are still on my list but taking my time to get them since my wallet is still crying from today.

I've had my goodies for a few days now and got to test them all. Outta them, Dogon is my fave! I have a lot of Nars duos yet I put Dogon on my top 5 faves ever (the other top 4 are Jolie Poupee, Cordura, South Pacific and Eurydice). I've had this duo for almost a week and already used it three times which is a lot for me. I'm not loving Bolero matte velvet pencil so much though. Somehow it wears patchier than all my other matte velvet pencils. I think I'm gonna take it back and get New Lover glossy velvet pencil instead.

Oh and I know this is not part of Nars summer, but I'm loving the Nars Irresistablement Bronzer i picked up with my summer haul. I now use it exclusively instead of my Laguna bronzer and loving the matte texture and peachy undertones instead of the brown in most bronzers. I have no colour right now, prob am down to NW20 (ughhh @ spring not being here yet and me staying pasty) so this is a good and natural fake glow on my skintone. I wore it yesterday and everyone thought I'd came back from vacation in the tropics

What do you guys make of the illuminators, specifically the Cococabana one? Sorry if it's been mentioned already in the thread, I haven't managed to read it all!

I swatched Orgams, Super Orgasm, Laguna and Copacabana? Illuminators. Orgasm was quite sheer Super Orgasm was more peachy and sparkly (so it will act as an illuminator) Laguna, I found this to be so dark and i am nc42-43, i would definitely not use it as an illuminator to highlight anything because it was kinda brown on my already tanned skin, I ended up buying Super Orgasm and i am happy with it.

I had never paid attention to it before but I was complaining to my Nars SA about my end of winter skintone and how I wanted more colour and she recommended it to me. it's quite pigmented too so u need just a tiny bit. Now I can't stop wearing it

well it would appear that my hubby is a fan of the shadow trio - when he saw me wearing it yesterday he kept saying how pretty i looked. and i wore it again today and he keeps commenting on my eyes saying how beautiful they are - gotta be the trio!! well worth the money!

I was pretty content with my decision to only order Dogon duo, but all the praise & Lou's gorgeous swatches

are making Cap Ferrat really hard to resist... Must. Stay. Strong. I can't wait for HQ hair to put this collection on-line (to me, MAC's spring/summer collections thus far have been quite a letdown and I need something gorgeous, unique and exciting from the mu world - a quick NARS fix asap, please
