I'm going to be picking up back ups just in case of a few colors, I hope they can keep the tubes because I'm sorry I dont like fluidlines or the pots, I have had them and they just take up alot of space and dry up on me. mac is just making it easier and eaiser to pass on new products now.

but anyways these wont be coming out until sometime after jan, I was able to look though my ma's book for a while and these werent in it.

Maybe having customers go through the product faster and needing to buy more of it more often is part of the idea...or most of the idea....behind the change. I'm sure the professionals here go through product much much faster than someone like me, but as an individual user, just by my experience I can say I can't even remember when I bought any of my paints, and I use so little at a time that you can hardly tell any is gone. I use Bare Canvas, Stillife and Untitled, one of them every day and I haven't had to even roll the tube up once! So I'm sure finding ways to move product faster with something like this was an issue. It's such a quality product, I guess it was unavoidable that it would be screwed with it someday and changed from what we've been used to. Backups here I come, too!

I wish they had flip top lids and the consistency was a bit better as I can never get an even coverage :-(

if they come in the same packaging as the fluidlines, maybe i'll actually stop being a bum and TRY paints out haha!

I am interested in the paint pots, can't wait to see what they are like. I think, that I will probably like the pots a tad more, since the tubes get all bent up and ugly looking.

I think I must be the only one it the world who doesn't have a problem with paints in the tube! I've never had excess come squirting out and I love how you can just swipe your brush across the top to get the product. I'm interested to see how paint in pots will work though!

I have or have had like 15 of the paints and never had a problem with oozing. I unrolled the last crimp at the bottom & no problems. I also love the way they last forever in the tubes. I don't see them lasting so long in the pots.

I'm gonna stock up on a few Paints if they actually get discontinued. I don't want to switch. If it aint broke....

On another topic , someone who went to a Pro class was told by one of MAC artists (forgot the name) that the regular paints aren't going to be discontinued.

i agree. has anyone tried the laura mercier metallic eye cremes? it's very similar to the paints, except the packaging is made from plastic, so it doesn't have the same problems like the aluminium tubes from MAC.

also, i just dug up a really old paint tube ...it's so old I think it's from when they first came out that it doesn't have a name on the tube...but they used to be 7.5g instead of the 6.5 g like the ones now. arugh, why does every company do that?

anyhow, my point is, the tube packaging defintely works for keeping the air out...this one is defintely still usable!

Some of my paints are like 3 years old and they are still totally fine, not dried out at all. I think it's actually good that they are in the metallic tubes because they "hug" the product more, if that makes sense, and allow less air to get inside. Think of it like a toothpaste tube, the ones from plastic expand to their regular size again and let air fill it up, but metallic tubes stay empty when they are empty.

I do love my paints, never had problems with them :ilike:
but that being said I'm kinda excited for the pots too, maybe they'll bring out lots of new and amazing colors (imaging really vibrant pots)

I like the old packaging better... I have samples of paint I've bought off of people in 5g screwtop jars and they do dry up after a while

I'm thinking that one of the Paint Pots has to be a silver, since the axed Pixel, Shimma Paints and Silverplate eye kohl. Another one has to be lavendar, as they axed Mauvism Paint, Ola Viola and Lilacky Powerpoints. They have to have some bases in those colours.
