Paint Pots

Hopefully, there won't be a drying out too fast problem w/ the Paint Pots.

I've had problems w/ the Paint tubes oozing w/ a few of the color I have, but it hasn't be a huge problem for me. Otherwise, I wouldn't have much of an issue w/ MAC packaging the Paints in a pot rather than a tube. I'd use a brush w/ them anyway & make sure I keep the brush clean, so I wouldn't be too worried about them being unhygenic.

I'd still miss the tubes though. They're easy to store & don't take up much room. Pots obviously are bulkier.

oh no no theres a big difference between paints and fluidline! while you can use fluidline for a base, its not the best choice for a base. it dries and sets and is water resistant. so it can "peel" off or scrape off... paint wont do that. they arent reformulating paint, just putting them in a more neater looking container. mac is getting really big on uniform-ness and neatness. they dont like how messy and ugly things look on the display. and paints are one of them >:O

Interesting! so perhaps paints that (hopefully) will still be creaseproof but a little slower drying? I can't imagine them lasting too long in a pot. I've squeezed a paint into a little pot before (to use the paint container for B2M) but the paint ended up getting too hard to use.

Hopefully they will change the Fluidline display. Everytime anybody turns the display around, the jars go flying-and Blue Peep is HARD to get off that floor!

haha ya we actually created our own display at our counter for them. we are using a little stand that i think is supposed to hold pigments, before pigments got their new little vertical stand display.

I am looking forward to the paint pots. If they are reformulating the paints, I hope it is creamier and they bring out some more colours (shades of blue, green, silver). Does anyone have any pics of them or do they look similar to fluidline pots?

I bought one ccb and it's too oily or something and creases terribly if I try to use it as a base, but paints are perfect even when it's over 100 degrees out. I sure hope this reformulation doesn't ruin that.

i dont know... i love the paints!! if they are discontinued i will stock up on them... and then try out the paint pots... i really hope they dont dry out... because my paint tubes do not, even if they start oozing a bit when first bought...

I sure do love my Bare Canvas, and I plan to stock up since I am not sure how I will feel about the paint pots... Man, why do they have to mess with a good thing? LOL!

The first post indicated in March 2006 that these were coming out "next year," and we're there now.

Do we know about when or if this is happening? I don't want them sprung on us without time to grab a few of the ones I like before I go to the website and they're not there at all, even in "good-byes." Maybe I'll just get some anyway to be safe!

haha relax relax... these ARE coming out just later in the year. they havent done away with the paints yet so no worries. everyone ALWAYS knows when things are gonna come out ahead of time on here and im sure there will be a topic discussing these with pictures within a few months.

some one who knew what he was talkin 'bout once said that "if it aint broken, dont try to fix it!"
we now see mac is not familiar with that phrase
obviosly, most of us dont like the idea of paints taken away from us,
thats just up-seting.
