In its last release, Highly Charged (rich purple with pink pearl) was so gorgeous when i first put it on, but after an hour or two it turned a certain kind of red that made me look sick - and i do wear other red eyeshadows and enjoy the drama. I returned it, but i was so sad. I don't know if there's a base that will keep it from changing on me...

Yes, not all with * are new. I have Brilliantly Lit for instance, but love Superwatt and Coil more. Might grab one or two, Gravitational sounds good. TY!

I'm so happy about this lauch, I've got Highly charged and Switch to blue from A novel romance and I love them!
I'm interested into Infra Violet and maybe the emerald one... and sad because I want that teal who came with the first collection but they didn't repromote it ;_;

I was never interested in these until playing with the ColourPop formula. Maybe I'll pick one up to compare? :shrugs:

I posted before, but no one answered... so i'll try again.

I ADORED the way Highly Charged (Rich purple with pink pearl) looked when i first put it on. Oh, how i loved it. But in an hour or two it turned red. Now, i wear some dramatic red shadows, but this looked like i had an eye infection or i'd been crying all night (no actual eye irritation, just inflamed-looking red on my lid and crease). Very sadly I returned it.

Now that it's coming back, i wonder if anyone knows of a lid primer than will keep it from changing.

Maybe try a white base, like NYX Milk or something. A clear base probably won't help much. Or maybe a black base.

Maybe a Paint Pot (Painterly e.g.) or a Paint (Bare Canvas e.g.) would work as a base.

Thanks! Those sound like good suggestions. I'll see what i can come up with.

Has anyone used the fairly new Prep + Prime 24-Hour Extend Eye Base?

Haven't tried it myself, but Karen mentioned using it in one of her posts and her review sounds promising. Mackarrie has a review on her blog and I do rely on her opinion a lot, I think she likes it more than UDPP and Paint Pots, if I remember it correctly. I'll definitely purchase it after finishing my Bare Study Paint Pot and my UDPP samples.

Definitely getting another Superwatt this time. :) Might get more e/c neutrals, I'm not sure yet. That emerald one looks super pretty too!
Me too. I noticed recently that I've hit pan on mine. It's perfect for those days when I have to put my make-up on in the car!

I've hit pan on my original release Superwatt as well.

getting more!
Oh I also own Superwatt, but I've barely touched it (I must change this! A pretty color indeed!) ...but I've hit pan on Pure Flash from the ANR collection. It didn't really take a lot of times of use, so I wonder whether the texture is quite uneconomical or if I just pushed the product away from the pan's center because of the squishyness. Anyway, since cream shadows haven't got a super long shelf life, that's all right for me. I hope these will be perm one day because they're simply great, but I'm afraid of owning too many cream shadows at the same time which will end up as dry pucks because I cannot use them all quickly enough.

You've had some other issues in the past with lipsticks and other makeup changing color on you, right?

Some people have a reaction to certain red dyes, which sounds a little like what you had. I don't think a primer will prevent that, although if someone came up with a pH neutralizing, eye soothing primer, I would buy that in a minute! A primer would probably help hold the sparkling pigments in a bit so they wouldn't get into the ducts and cause irritation, but that's about it. You might like Infra-Violet, because unlike most of the other Electric Cools, it doesn't have sparkle or frost at all. Dynamo is like that too.
