Does anyone have any tips for layering lipstick over Nightmoth? I tried completely filling in my lips and it was too much; the color of the lipstick wouldn't show up.

What lipstick are you using with it? You could try filling lightly or only filling a portion of the way and then applying a little bit of balm to help disperse it. That will soften the color or Nightmoth a little. Or it might be the wrong choice of liner if it's completely masking the color of the lipstick you're pairing with it.

I tried Runway Hit today and I'm a little disappointed. It looked great in the morning when I applied it but by 11am it started to look flaky. I applied balm ahead of time like I do with all my other retro mattes that I love but this one looked pretty bad after a few hours. I'm going to do a deeper exfoliation tonight and try it again tomorrow.

I had the same issue when I wore FOD yesterday, but I thought that maybe it was because my lip liner hadn't mixed well with the lipstick formula. I too drink lots of water and dry lips aren't an issue for me (I moisturized b4 applying too), if you find something that works please post!

I swatched Fashion Boost on my hand....It survived 8 hrs of frequent, thorough handwashing (I am a doc and work in ICU so I am CONSTANTLY washing my hands) before it showed any signs of wear and tear.

The colour is GORGEOUS and so vivid and pigmented

I bought 2 with my mac order when the collection dropped online. I plan to go instore tomorrow and cop 2 more, along with Dynamo and Shock Value.

I was trying it with Heaux, which I think one or two here have had luck with. I think I'll try applying lightly, going in with balm, and then blending it a little with the lipstick to see if it works

Here's a trick my MA has done on me that works really well. Instead of using the lip pencil first, you apply the lipstick first and then go over just the edges with the pencil, right on top of the lipstick. Blend with a brush if necessary or even easier, just apply a light second layer of lipstick. It defines the lips and keeps the lipstick from bleeding and doesn't interfere with the color or texture of the lipstick as much.

I use Nightmoth almost exclusively with my deeper red lipsticks (it looks amazing with Runaway Red, Deeply Adored, Prince Noir, etc.) and am definitely going to bust it out for FOD. I really like these retro mattes without liner too, though.

Oh ok. If I'm not mistaken, most have used Nightmoth with Heaux to make a sultry ombré-ish lip more so than filling their lips completely. Might be wrong but it's the look I recall with Heaux and RRW (and virtually any other red or purple lipstick).

I bet they're at CCOs or in someone's clearance bin. Frankly I could not EVEN understand why they didn't make those Pro Sculpting Cremes perm or at least perm at Pro stores. Contouring was a bit of a runway fad that season but plenty of people contour on a daily basis, totally unrelated to fashion.

Thanks, I'll try that too. I haven't done an ombre lip before, but i'd love to try it. I'm really new to lip liners; this is only my 3rd.
