I finally got around to finally wearing Dark Deed (since I been wearing the heck out of Private Party). It is quite nice, I was hoping for a deeper color but I guess I'll have to use Vino lip liner underneath it to achieve my desired result.

It looks so pretty as is, but if you really want dark try Nightmoth lip pencil.

I got my pp. It is vampy darker burgundy on me. Not what I thought it would be. It's like a slightly lighter ttt on me. It is nothing at all like craving on me. It is much darker with more purple to it than Craving. TTT sheered out with a gloss is the closest for me.

I agree! I'm definitely going to pair VV with Nightmoth too! If I'm going to wear that shade, I want it as VAMPY as I can get it! And Nightmoth is the recipe for that!!

I have been shopping today. I tried on the items from the violet lip bag, I like them so I bought a backup in addition to my planned purchase. I also fell in love with Genuine Treasure paint pot so I got that. It really is a good deal because the price of the paint pot is $20, fluidline $16, and mascara is about $20-22. So that's at least $56 of product plus you get the bag and the brush!!. I cant wait to use the combo. I also go 2 other paint pots, Indianwood and Constructivist. Now all I need is some sets in November and I am good. At least until I see the December collections.

Are the brush sets synthetic ? I have the mineralize one and I want to use some wet.
As i mentioned earlier, just like the full-size mineralize brushes, they're made of both natural and synthetic hairs. However, the quality of the hairs are far superior to that of its full-size match. So you can use them just the same as you would the full-size brush, just know that the quality, result, and lifespan of the sets are no match to that of the full-size guys. In the end, you get what you pay for.
I received my Violet Lip Bag today... It looks so pretty. I haven't even swatched anything yet.
So purrrty!

I posted this on my blog, but I thought I'd share these here as well.

EE was too gray for me. FFF was too light. YGI was nice, but I didn't like how dry it looked and felt. PFP and PP... I love love love!

And here's a comparison of Nude (left) and EE (right).

so i went to mac today and i was pretty sure that i would get the violet lip set. i tried on the lipstick with the liner and i liked it but wasnt super impressed. i like the color of dark deed but its almost too creamy for my taste. i like darker colors to be more on the matte side. i feel like a color like that will get out of the lines and not last. does anyone who bought this like it? if im wrong and it does last, let me know because i really do like the color! just dont want want my red lips to fade!!

Thank you for the suggestion! I really need to pick up Nightmoth one of these days, I always say I'm going to get it but it just never happens lol
Nightmoth is my very most favorite-est MAC lip liner pencil. I adore the color. Darker, more violet than any other current MAC liners.

Funny. I went to the MAC store today also and bought the Violet lip set also. It is ok. I was not super impressed. I agree with you that Dark Deed would have been better as a matte. I think it is too creamy for me. I will likely blot the color to make it more matte.

aww thats so annoying. guess ill pass. which is unfortunate cuz i really like the packaging lol. ehh idk i still kinda want it though, but probably wont end up getting it. i think all colors like this should be more matte. amplified finish is great but not for dark colors. but if you end up making it work let me know! i hope you like it :)

As did I. I was just trying to help others not misinterpret and panic. Hence, my response. It's kind of like saying "people will spend money on stupid shit" referring to the Sigma mitt. I'm fine with you thinking it's stupid. But I find it useful. And phrasing it that way can make people misunderstand your intention.  I was simply trying to help clarify as I am very particular about cleaning my makeup items. And at first I your post even made me nervous until I realized what I was using was perfectly fine and not "stupid shit" at all to me. So, Beauty So Clean and 99% alcohol is fine to clean your makeup ladies and gents. HTH
Well, shoot. I have used 70% rubbing alcohol and ruined cracked blush... And I have never though if using a bristled silicone mitt to help clean my brushes. Thanks, Pixie and Erine, for sharing your opinions and expertise!

I did a fun look last night with Tonight's Temptation ME, similar to this one from the Thakoon. I applied the black shadow over the lid with a 239 that I'd misted with Fix+ after I filled it with shadow. That makes the shadows in this MES apply really densely and richly. I got the edges really sharp (sharper than this look in the picture) with some extra on the flat edge of a 212. I used the blue shadow only on the inner eye. No liner, no shadow or liner on the lower lids. I really love this MES - the silver sparkles are just right, not too few or too many, and the colors are thick and dense and velvety.

I defined my brows with just a touch with Brunette Veluxe brow liner (I've been enjoying using a color lighter than my natural brows lately for a little softer definition - my brows are thick enough you don't really see how light the pencil is).

Used Talk of the Town on the cheeks - ffffffrosty…I'd almost skipped buying this one, but it's definitely fun.

Runway Hit on the lips - perfect color to pair with very strong cat eyes.

Had on black waxed jeans and a black muscle T with my metallic red, snakeskin embossed velvet booties and my hair down and extra fluffed out.

'Going out tonight too…I think I may do something similar, but smokier with liner in the waterlines this time using Gilded Night MES, Lured to Love and maybe FoF on the lips (or maybe Sweet Succulence!).

Pink lip and cheek bag swatches coming up momentarily. I actually really like this set. The lipstick (how darling! cremesheen) is a light pink, it's description says warm but I would say its more neutral. The gloss (soft spoken) is a clear base but has a beautiful pinky pearly sparkles. The blush (formal) is a like a light neutral pink, good color payoff, soft texture and I think it's a satin cause it has a slight sheen.
