How about Andre J?
He's the one providing audio about lipgloss in the Heatherette clip on the MAC site.

I would like to see Sophia Loren, Elizabeth Taylor, or Marilyn Monroe. Something that screams GLAMOUR!!!! I think MAC would make a ton of money on a Marilyn Monroe collection....the sultry dark eyes & crimson lips!

she's hardly an icon imo. she donates money to needy countries (but then blocks one off to have a baby

), but that's about it. so do other people, but that doesn't make them icon material.

the colors weren't all that great, but the packaging was cool. it had tiger print.

I, too, agree Kylie would be a good choice - both for who she is and her ability rock some amazing makeup.

i agree with you about janet and mariah. they're good singers, if that.

i wish mac would use people who really make a difference. you know, like the doctors that are curing cancer, the firefighters that rush burning buildings to save little handicapped kids, the cops that will take bullet after bullet entering a house to free hostages, important people.

i'm sure we could live without kylie minogue's next cd. i don't think it would kill anyone if angelina jolie never acted again. if dita von teese's tassles were never seen in another club, the world wouldn't come grinding to a halt.

it's so irritating to me that big business pedals these stupids celebrities as heroes when they're nothing even close. half of them probably couldn't even spell hero if it was written in block letters right in front of them.

i agree as well, however, the collection is about icons, not heros. the two are not interchangable.

YES! This was what sprung to my mind, not Kylie. Though Kylie would be great I could definitely see Olivia as the next icon! She has had a wondeful singing and theatrical career. She has been through a lot BESIDES cancer in her own life - her missing partner, her daughters trouble with anorexia and she has cancer more than once which has been widely publicised, and has emerged as a widely known public figurehead and positive role model still beautiful, strong and still genuine. I LOVE the idea that Olivia could be a MAC Icon

She is an inspiration for everyone IMHO!

I would dearly love to see Sophia as an Icon! This woman has timeless class!! I would be ALL OVER than one...LOL! Shame she was so rudely insulted on her last trip downunder though....

Re: MAC Icon Discussion 2008

I'd err on the side of being horribly unpopular by saying this but I wouldnt touch a Liz Taylor collection..... This woman while exquisitely beautiful and highly acclaimed for her early years, in later years her string of failed & whimsical marriages and progression to drug and alcohol addiction and public displays of same makes her unsuitable as an Icon IMHO. I dont discredit her previous work as she had a stellar acting career and I am a fan of her earlier films, but for me she doesnt seem to hold quite the same aires as past icons

I think I'm the only one who's not really feeling Kylie. I mean, I know she made the locomotion song, and some pop music after that but I'm just not into her.

YES! i'd hit up that collection in a quick minute.

i know icons and heroes aren't interchangable...but they paint the icons out to be these amazing people that the world just could not live without which just isn't the case. the only people the world needs are the real ones, the ones who work for the betterment of society.

i wish mac would use those kind of people, the ones you can really look up to as an icon, instead of celebrities.
