I'm only starting to wear Boyfriend Stealer more lately and Ronnie Red has been seriously neglected lately too.
One thing I jut don't let myself do is switch around to a lot of other brands. MAC's prices have gone up, but I still think they've got the best style to tech to price ratio of the higher end brands, so even when I see something in another line I like (like those adorable Dior shadow palettes with the stars) I just say NO to myself.
One thing I'm not going to allow myself are the shadows if they're too shimmery, because I think we will see these colors in other formulas - there are a few of the new pressed pigments that are similar and by the time holiday rolls around, there will probably be more extra dimension shadows and who knows what else.
I have more MAC than any other brand, but I do branch out. It doesn't make sense to me to limit myself to just MAC when some others have great alternatives. I prefer NARS blush to MAC - it lasts far longer on me. I also love their light reflecting powder. I have a few e/s duos and lippies too - NARS is definitely my #2 brand. I have a few Benefit products I really like; Watt's Up and a couple of creaseless shadows. I like them enough to deal with the fact that they're (gasp) not in black packaging.
One of the reasons I don't reach for some other brands is because I loathe bulky packaging. I like that MAC/NARS blush and e/s don't waste space; nothing I hate more than a palette that's easily double the size it needs to be just so there's a lot of plastic trim around it or so a cheap brush can be included. Hate that.
