so i tried the lll underneath the metal-x and it didn't work for me at all im really annoyed with my metal-x now and its not coming out how i wanted it to i tried udpp underneath and it showed up better but if i add more than one color it becomes a mush of everything so i guess i'll have to wear it alone or as a base for something else

Aside from relying on my freakishly good memory, I use an extensive inventory maintained in an excel spreadsheet to keep all my MAC straight.

I don't know about ya'll but I didn't know the creased look was a new fall trend. lol. Weird. It's amazing what some MAs will say to get a sale.

I went tonight and bought Gilded Ash and Material Gold. The MA told me she wears hers over paint. Her's hadnt creased at all. I've been swatching them and they are pretty creamy still, so I'm going to mess around with bases to see what works the best. I love the colors though, so I'm glad I bought them. I also bought Spiritualize and I love it! It is gorgeous and so unlike any of my other greens. It looks great over Delft p/p btw.

no, seriously, they are supposed to crease. i posted that a looong time ago.

but i do take back what i said about all that shit. i wore the blue look (the name is escaping me at this moment)-delft with metal-blu on top. i did my eyes at 8am, and its now midnight. NO CREASEAGE WHAT SOEVER!!!

I ended up get gilded ash & gold spice...and may go back in the am for forged rose! I didn't know they were supposed to crease so I'm hoping I'll find a way to prevent that or I'll have to let them because I can't stand creasage!!

whhatttt! lol weird, I don't think I'm into that! Looks like most of us aren't! I mean I understand that maybe they're not formulated to be creaseless, but it's supposed to be a look??! haha wow.

Glad you found a suitable base though! I think maybe I'll try bare study tomorrow b/c it has a different finish than painterly!

I think some of you forget that we all don't have the same skin types and that plays a BIG PART in how cream shadows of different textures stay on or off our lids. :\

It won't work on all of you but its good to try different bases to see what works best.

I have to say that I love Gilded Ash! I wore it today over Bare Canvas paint with Sweet Sienna p/m on the inner and outer lid and Cocomotion p/m on the middle of the lid, wedge and bamboo in the crease and brule to highlight. Oh and Smolder and Wolf to line. I kind of threw it together last minute and it turned out better than I had imagined, I had it on for about 11 hours today with no creasing!

Right. There is also the application to consider. How much are people putting on and with what.

I love my metal-x's over paints. They never budge! I am soooo loving my gilded ash, I have been wearing it every day since I bought it.

ITA, I am trying out all different bases b/c I want to find one that is suitable for me, so I'm willing to test many different options.

^I'm doing this, too. I have pretty oily lids. I tried frostlite fluidline on one lid today and bare study paint pot on the other lid as a base. So far, they are performing about equally. They're not bad. They are creasing slightly. I am also keeping the lids of the shadows open until they get a little drier.

I'm pretty sure MAC higher ups would have barfed at my counter this past weekend! We ENCRUSTED our eyes with glitter! It was sooo hot and everyone LOVED our looks! It's your own personal discrection if you want to put glitter on your eyes since they aren't technically eye safe. We needed to be noticed this weekend, business has been SOOO slow.

Today I wore:
Cashflow Paint Pot, Amber Lights, and Material Gold on the lid, with Expresso in the crease, Shroom as highlight, and Reflects Bronze all over. It was sooo hot!!
Another artist was going for Hilary Duff's look in her new Reach Out video (which I loove SOOO much). She wore Bare Study as base, Satin Taupe all over, Gilded Ash in the crease, and Antique Reflects Gold all over lid. It was soooo pretttyyyy.

Glitters look sooo good on the lid. I wish we could wear them all the time on the lid and get away with it.
