MAC Styledriven Discussion

In the beginning I was a bit hesistant to look at this collection but the curiosity got the best of me. So today I stopped by Macy's to get the Matchmaster foundation and to look at what would catch my attention from this collection. Well let me just say that I will be going back to get at least two more of the e/s and lipglosses. I ended up with Keep Your Cool e/s, Whoops, and Full Speed Ahead l/g. I gotta say I love what I bought as I selected them very carefully. What made me buy KYC was that it was a dark grey brown and its the perfect color to pair with Centre Stage e/s from Peacocky. It makes the colors more intense without wearing black for a super smokey eye. I love it. The color was made for me. Now onto the glosses, I didn't feel I had to work too much with them. I just applied a small coat on the bottom lip and spread it around with my finger making sure all the areas were covered. Then I added a tad on the upper lip and the end result was really good no gooey mess. It's very pigmented even if little product is used. Yes it is sticky but I think that's what makes it so long lasting. I haven't tested their lasting power yet but I will this week. I will also take a picture of the eye combo. If you missed out on Centre Stage, Make Your Mark is close enough.

I was unsure about the mixed reviews of the formula so I tried out whoops before buying it and holy cow! This is the perfect coral for me, not going to orange and making me look all washed out and weird. I almost got a backup until I remembered they're perm! I also picked up a l/p and two e/s. The eyeshadows are such an amazing texture. Buttery without fallout. And they last forever! I tried them over a p/p and with no primer and they look great either way. I ended up taking home Tease With Ease and Pink Frontier for now. After my wallet recovers from fall color I will be heading back for more. :D My friend and I tested Tease With Ease for dupes in store but couldn't find any. We tried it against hepcat, plum dressing, creme de violet, stars and rockets, and nothing was even close to a dupe. I've always loved the PLW lipsticks but I already have several so I haven't gone to get anymore yet. The l/p I got was staunchly stylish. The thing I noticed about these pencils is how creamy they were. They go on like a pearlglide! I absolutely adore pearlglides, so even though I don't normally wear lip pencils, I had to try one. It doesn't feel at all drying to me, though I use it as a liner and not a full lip color so that might be why I'm getting a different experience than most. The color is a perfect MLBB shade and has a really pretty sheen to it. Wish I could pick up the true color in a photo, but the flash seems to wash it out. :/ Overall, LOVE this new line! And I am excited about getting more from it as soon as dividends come out in two weeks :eyelove:

Get it, it's awesome. I usually stay away from corals but I was intrigued by this one and I ended up buying it cuz it looked so nice against my skintone. Btw we're skintone twins lol

I am so in love with this collection! Like someone else said, I have to keep reminding myself that it's permanent so I can pace myself. Here's my review:

Eyeshadow: I bought Carefree, Pink Frontier, Sweet Satisfaction, Lie Low, Make your Mark, and Hot Paprika. I will probably go back and get Legendary Black and Keep your Cool (or maybe Weathered) sometime soon. I do agree that these are somewhat dupable, but the formula more than makes up for that. With MAC shadows, I always had the problem, especially with darker shadows, of them migrating along my crease throughout the day. I would do a dark shadow on the outer crease, and within a few hours it would have "run" into my inner crease. I tried paint pots, NARS primer, etc. and continued to have the problem, but not with these! They are fantastic. I have found that the color does fade ever so faintly throughout the day, but most of the color still remains. I have not experienced any movement or creasing at all. I think the color selection is fantastic too. I own way too many MAC shadows because the collection is so huge. I always feel like I'm missing out on the next great thing. I appreciate the basic nature of this selection, but with enough variety that it has something to offer everyone. I have actually taken my other MAC palettes out of the bathroom for now! (Speaking of palettes, anyone have any great palettes for these new pans? I think they're 36mm.)

Liners: I bought Staunchly Stylish. This is a great color, very similar than my natural lip color, though a bit lighter and pinker. It's a great base and can probably even be worn on it's own though it might be a little dry. It hangs on for dear life and doesn't budge. I wasn't too thrilled with the color options for this product. Many of the colors are VERY similar and I wish they had something a little lighter.

Lipstick: A new love. I never purchased anything from the previous PLW line, because there was never a color that really stood out to me. I bought Soft Sell and it is absolutely gorgeous. It's a very natural pink on me that doesn't lean too pastel, too berry, or too fuchsia. It's not a particularly summery pink I think it will translate well even in the fall and winter. It adds a "glow" to my lips that I can't quite explain. It's similar to what Chanel Boy did if you're familiar with that, though Boy is much lighter and sheerer. It's just a glow-from-within look that I adore. Tangent: Some of the blogs I have read seem to mix up Soft Sell and To the Future. I tried both in the store and Soft Sell is definitely the darker of the two. It's a natural pink whereas To the Future is the lighter peachy color. I was actually really hoping that it would work for me too because it's a fantastic color in the tube, but it didn't work at all. My natural lips are quite pigmented, and the creaminess of this just looked like a streaky mess. If anyone has any tips on how to make this work (besides concealing my whole lip), please share. I love the color but couldn't make it work.

Lipgloss: Wow. I bought Show Me and Whoops and both are great. The formula is definitely thick and takes a little getting used to, but it does hang on! I know some people have complained of streakiness or difficulty in application, but i have not experienced this with either of these colors. They do make my lips peel (?) a little, for lack of a better word, but now that I've been wearing it consistently for several days, it doesn't seem to be a problem. Maybe my lips are fully exfoliated now. :) Show Me looks great on top of Soft Sell and Whoops is great even on it's own. I would like to get more of these in the future, but none of the other colors really call me right now.

This is my first post and it looks like I wanted to make it count! For reference, I'm NW20 with light brown hair and blue eyes.

I went back again to look at these eyeshadows . . . I really wanted to like Plush ( the purple) one but it didnt look that pigmented when swatched, so imma pass on that one and just pick up MUFE #92. Imma gonna pass on Tease w/ Ease and I will just pick up Woodstock from UD.

But I will be going back for Keep Your Cool, Weathered, and Carefree e/s

Thanks, shontay! Seems like my love for Hibiscus will continue.

I will definitely check this collection very soon when I visit my counter for the Fall Colour collection. I'm very excited.

I think the color itself is prettier, bolder than Hibiscus but I would definitely reach for Hibiscus first. Just easier for me to work with.

Ok here are the pics of me wearing both Full Speed Ahead L/g and Whoops. I gotta say I really like these glosses. Tell me what do you guys think. I will post pics of me wearing the eyeshadow when I finally do it.

I like the colors of the glosses, but unfortunately i didn't like how they felt on my lips. Way too sticky for my liking. It's even stickier than the lipglasses :( Will give the glosses a pass.

I would haf like the colors in the kissable lip color texture from Peacocky though.

I'm returning all eyeshadows except one to watch. So returning 9.... I know its make up butchering but its a lot of money and they are so dupable IMO plus the size turns me off.

Why don`t you try to sell them? european prices are bigger than us ones, and I think you can find buyers for the same prices. So they don`t get wasted, just a thought!

Thanks girl. Not really all I did was apply enough product to spread it with my finger and then added a bit more to get more coverage. If I feel that it's not too even I press my lips together lightly hth.
