Ok, so I went to mac yesterday intent on only buying 1 item from this collection - the gold-go-lightly careblend bronzer. I DID buy the cremeblend and from what I can tell it is fantastic. Haven't really worn it properly yet, so I will update again when I do, but its soft, ultra-blendable and matte which is exactly what I wanted. I also picked up a natural careblend from the perm. collection to replace my MSFN.
There was nothing else that interested me, and having seen the swatches of 'my paradise' I had completely ruled it out as I felt I had things that were similar. Infact, I was wearing ripe peach when I went to the counter yesterday (one of the items I have which I though might be similar to my paradise)....
Anyway,
after I had swatched everything else from the collection, I decided to swatch 'my paradise' -
OMG!!! It looked beeeaaaauuuutttiiiiffffuuuulllll!!!!! But I still convinced myself that without the gold shimmer from the overlay, it would be very similar to one of the shades I already own. Well.... I asked the MA to put some on me, and WOW it is wonderful! Probably one of my most favourite blushes
EVER! Bearing inmind that I was wearing ripe peach at the time, and I was still totally and utterly blown away by 'my paradise'. Infact, it IMO it is prettier than ripe peach (with the exception that ripe peach has the darker shade which means you can do a contour/sunset effect on your cheeks - which I love).
I had to buy it, even though initially I had been tempted not to even swatch it. It's odd, because blushes are usually the one thing in a collection that interests me the most, but this time I wasn't interested at all and it turned out to be one of the best blushes ever. For reference, I'm only NW15 and I think this blush is perfect for all skin tones - us paler girls included!
Now I just need to work out how to apply it like she did. She didn't do anything special, just threw it on with a big-ish fluffy brush, and it looked great. She applied it so that the colour was really heavy, much heavier than I would usually wear, but I loved it. Can't seem to recreate it very well today though, she just got a better shape to the blush etc... must practice with heavier applications...
The best thing is, this blush is super pigmented but also blends really well and I easily built it up from a subtle corally-peachy-orangy glow to full on in-your-face coral today. Although admittedly not with the flair of the MA... sigh.
P.S.... a little tip for all you girls worried about running out of the gold overspray on this blush - the MA said that 'gold deposit' MSF is the perfect match - just add a little of that to your 'my paradise' when the gold overlay runs out and a voila - like new
