Well, fiddlesticks! I slept on it, and missed out on getting a back-up of Annemiek :( ahh wells. I probably have enough light dusty pink shades to tide me over. Still a little poutful, though!

Awwww, maybe you still find it in a store. But Annemiek was bound to be the first one sold out. Inez will follow soon.

I'm loving the brush! It's dense and perfect for stippling liquid foundation.

By the way, I wonder why MAC's stock photo of this brush shows black natural bristles instead of grey.

Photoshop (of the old MW 187). :)

I think more people would buy it as a collector's item if they knew the bristles were dyed grey instead of the standard black. MAC should really change the stock photo!

I'd say that collectors are certainly aware that the bristles are grey as the promo pictures (not the stock pictures) show it and we talked at length in the discussion forum about it. Collectors are probably the first to notice.

I actually didn't know that the bristles were grey.

I only found out about it when somebody on a beauty forum mentioned it. (Actually, I think it was here on specktra!) I wouldn't have bought it had that person not mention it. Also, the promo pics were confusing because there is one promo pic that shows the 187 brush with slightly grey natural bristles and another promo pic that shows the 187 brush with black natural bristles. Also, in the description, MAC doesn't mention that the bristles are dyed grey.

Regardless, I'm so glad that I bought it because it's actually practical and dense enough for stippling liquid foundation. The 2010 Marcel Wanders brush was too flimsy for me.

It was probably ME, hehehe. Glad you like it!

BTW, I don't find any difference between the MW2 and the original MW brush. Maybe you got a bad one? They are both full and not flimsy at all.

You are probably the one to blame for my purchase and for everyone else's, hahah, but THANK YOU!

BTW, I wish you would have told me about the original MW brush 2 years ago, lol, because I might have not returned it and instead exchanged it for a different one. However, the handle kinda looked like cheap plastic. I prefer the handle on the new MW brush much better.

I take partial blame, haha. The other half of the blame goes to the gorgeous design that MAC produces every year.

Having said that, I strongly believe that a good brush is fundamental to achieve good make up results. If I had to chose, I would rather buy tools than make up. The best make up is worthless if one has not the tools to apply it properly. Especially with all the new formulas coming out, it is essential to have a larger arsenal of tools.

Truer words were never spoken.

I had always planned on buying this brush, but it was because of you, Mac-Guy, that I bought two!

I actually have two of Inez. I should have assumed that Annemiek would sell out soonest. I should have jumped on it when I had the chance, but then again I do have plenty of backups of Whirls & Twirls and while W&T is not nearly as luxuriously creamy of a formula as Annemiek, it'll suffice.

I'll have to check out my Nordstrom counters over the weekend to see if I can maaaaybe find another one, but if not it just wasn't meant to be. I like buying my favorite lipsticks in at least pairs, so that I don't sniffle when the day comes where I have to twist all the way up to use the last remnant of product. I held off on a BU of Annemiek since I went BU caraazy on Pink Pigeon and hauled a big chunk of Shop/Cook. Had to let the wallet breathe.

That brush on the other hand, is still calling out to me. Perhaps if I can't find another Annemiek, I'll stroke my broken-hearted backup ego with a purty tool.

ETA: Aaaand Inez is gone from the US site!

Do you have a MAC store near you? If they don't have it, maybe they can call around.

Come to think of it, I don't recall my Pro store even putting it a display, and I wonder if they ever did. I can call tomorrow and see if they have those two lippies around? Want me to check? If they have them, I can pick them up and send them to you, maybe they can.

Now that I think about it, I am not sure if the Nordstroms in my area even have a display for it, either. Since the collection's launched, I've gone to two separate Nordstrom counters, and I'm sure if the stand was out I would have looked at it or even remembered if it was there.

I do have a full-sized MAC near me, but they always sell out of collection items quickly. Since their location is also in a large shopping center with crowded parking, I don't frequent the store nearly as much as I can and do the Nordstrom counters.

Aww that's very sweet of you! I would love to say yes, but I think I have to decline, but thank you very much for wanting to find one for me! I'm still on the fence about even buying another one because I think the fact that it's sold out on the site makes me want to panic about it. My BU collection is getting more massive than my "In use" collection

Since the lipsticks I loved sold out while I was hemming and hawing, I got the brush. I had the compact in the cart, but removed it. I almost bought the solid perfume, but I really need either a sniff of it first or a description with notes. I did 2nd day shipping because I really want the brush now!
