The little one's are doing great, thanks! Miss ya too.

I am going to try Gilded Ash tomorrow morning. I only swatched it on my hand today, but hopefully it looks as pretty on as it did on my hand, because it was gorgeous! Reminded me a little of Smoke & Diamonds.

SAY NO TO METAL URGE!

Yes, there are some beautiful colours, but you don't need them. I REJECT THEM. They're too high maintenance for my liking.

I just ordered it too! It's part of my Christmas present from my mommy lol. Along with the Warm Eyes palette.

Trust me, it's hard. However, I get fed up with being broke, having a looming CC balance and spending all my money on makeup. And you know what? With Christmas pending, it's got me thinking about how much I enjoy shopping for OTHER people. I really do like giving people presents. Plus, these colours are hot, but when the next pretty thing comes along, how much will I keep using these? Will they dry out as badly as last year's, hence rendering them rather useless in a relatively short period of time? It just doesn't make sense to me. Plus, seeing the insanity some people are going through to make these work - such as using multiple bases - only to encounter less creasing just doesn't make them seem worth it to me.

Yes, they're beautiful, but there's more to consider. I have a whole lot of makeup sitting around that is more versatile, lower maintenance and also quite gorgeous. If I really want a cream shadow after these are gone, there are still CCBs, some of which truly are fantastic.

For now, I'm holding quite strong on my decision to not purchase a single one of these, and I don't foresee that changing.

GF raises some good points, but I think they can be said for any LE collection that we get sucked into and must have things that everyone else likes. I say if you live near a CCO, you can wait on these til they're there...if you still really want them after that, then maybe it's a good purchase. They are not must-haves. I'd been lemming after these for at least 6mos now so I am glad I got them, but as we know, there are awesome things coming up in the next couple months so hang tight and we'll be there soon!

It's true, but at least most stuff doesn't possibly become unusable as quickly as these.

For me, it's just one more extra push.

you too! I totally understand. It's part of why I keep an extensive inventory in an excel file - it's right there to remind me of what I have. I have a column for colour family, too, so I can easily see how many red lipsticks I have, for example (answer: way many). It's a good reminder! That, and simply doing my best to avoid the Clearance Bin, where a huge proportion of my collection is from.

It's the nicest colour of the batch, and it does remind me very much of Smoke & Diamonds.

It's nice and creamy too.

I wore some Metal Urge on Sunday.

Quite Natural Paint Pot all over lid
Satin Taupe all over lid
Gilded Ash on outer lid
Some Carbon in the crease
Next To Nothing for Highlight.

It was GORGEOUS. But every half hour I had to blend the Metal-X. It kept creasing and clumping together, taking the Satin Taupe and Quite Natural with it! I had holes in my eyeshadow!!!! I had to blend with my finger every half hour!! Never again!!! Jeez! Awful!

I know your expertise far exceeds mine, but last year I used my Metal-x shadows over a base and then dusted some powder over them and didn't have a huge problem with creasing. Just in the inner corner where I tend to crease with almost any product.

Pfffttt, I am with samantha on team say no to metal x.

Sure they are fun, but they are too much work. I need to show love to all my makeup, and these are too much maintenance for me to reach for them regularly.

I COMPLETELY AGREE, I am so tempted to buy gilded ash but I'm currently not working and I'd like to focus on spoiling others than myself for the holidays... oh well, and the fact they can crease especially with my oily lids, makes me feel a little better that I am not getting them...

so yay for TEAM NO on METAL X! hee hee
