I just posted lip swatches in the swatch thread! I'd give you my thoughts on the collection and my experience, but I'm off to track down a second Hibiscus! I'll do it later!

I always love my makeup & never tire of it. But it does become like a box of crayons, if you only have the 8 pack of crayons you can pick which color you want to use easily - but then you end of with the jumbo 64 count box of crayons because you need more colors & then they each get lesser love because you always need a new color

This is why I am trying to calm down with my crayons! hehe.

I picked up Hibiscus and it's an orange-red on without any shimmer that feels creamy. It is very pretty. I am going to be returning Naturally Eccentric as it becomes streaky each time I wear it. I am thinking of skipping the summer stash stack as I would rather go clothes shopping and puppy items shopping ;P

I got Saffron and am wearing it for the first time today. I was a bit scared of it looking at the pan but it is just beautiful. I am wearing it paired with Short Shorts in the tear duct and inner corner and to highlight my brow bone and then Sun Blonde all over my lid. Then I took Saffron on a blending brush and lightly blended it along the crease into Sun Blonde and then blended it upwards so I ended up with a soft gradient of yellow-orange-terracotta. I think you could use it with blues and pinks quite easily too. Greens would work well, it could add some depth. You could also use it in neutral looks with Short Shorts or browns and beige colours. Maybe try it out in person or look up some looks using it to get inspired.
Thank you so much! You gave me so many good suggestions I'm already tracing a colour map in my head ;D I might check Saffron soon before they sold out and make up my mind.

Happy hauling everyone

Thanks to everyone here for warning about the early launch. MAC at The Bay here is launching as scheduled tomorrow.

I couldn't make it to the stand alone store here until 1 pm, and there were almost sold out of Surf USA and some of the lipglasses.

I tried to love Sun Blonde, but it came out far to ochery on me, almost the same colour as when a bruise turns yellow. Not at all attractive. I swatched Surf USA, and WOW is it pigmented! I was trying to find a more neutral shade to go with, and found that Swell Baby is one the nicest mixes. The mua tried them on me, and I was sold. I'm going to have to come back for the Swell Baby because I only had enough for 2 items today.

I also very much wanted to love Hibiscus, after seeing so many swatches and how great it looked on Shontay. It pulled very very orange on me, and looked similar on me as Eager does, so I decided to skip it. It looked okay on me, but it didn't pop. I did find the closest lip pencil to match it was Redd.

I thought Bust Out was going to be like so many of the other purples I have, but as Katred mentioned earlier in this thread, it really is in a league of it's own. I was so excited I forgot to look for a matching lip pencil. Bust Out looks nice with the Swell Baby/Surf USA combo too. I was the first person to try on Bust Out, and all the mua artist were coming around to see how it looked on someone. It was cute.

It was also wonderful to shop a new collection when there was hardly anyone in the store, because the launch was going to be tomorrow. The staff had much more time to serve you. And I finally got to see the new paper bags. They are so pretty with the nice yellow interior.

Well, the only 2 items that I wanted are sold out on MAC's website. I didn't think Saffron would go so fast b/c it's a repromote. And I didn't think the majority of MAC's demographic would be interested in a brown lipglass like Krazy Kahuna. I refuse to pay shipping so I guess I'm SOL, lmao.

puppy break

She fell asleep in hubby's hand. You can kinda see on her stomach/side - she has large black spot markings that look just like a big Mickey Mouse head

Everything should be back in stock soon, and the free second day shipping code is BRAH, which ends on Monday, so you might be able to get your things still without paying shipping.

Went and got my goodies today too. I took my mom with me and we were the only ones in the store at opening. It was wonderful to be the first ones to swatch and play with everything. I came home with Short Shorts e/s, Swell Baby e/s, Guilded White pencil and a sample of Graphite from the Ocean pigment set. I also picked up Omega e/s because I'm completely out, Moon Reflection e/s and Electra e/s. Best part??? My total came to $8 !!!! Yep!!! I had a $50 gc and 18 empties for Back to Mac. Since I did so well, I popped over to H&M and treated myself to a few summer goodies.

I came very close to getting Surf USA, but as gorgeous as it is, I know I won't use it other than on my lower lash line and I have many similar pencils in that color that will do the trick.

My mom is pretty new to MAC. I lost track of everything she got LOL I do know she picked up My Paradise and Lucky Green e/s, 4 lipsticks (Creme d'Nude, Shy Girl, Creme Cup and ??) and gloss in Fashion Scoop.

So happy with my haul!!
