It killed my Lemming for LL, when I had the MUA at the MAC counter put it on my face. It looked like someone slapped mud on me..LOL! And that was a light application. I think I'm going to check out Sin. It looks right up my alley.

The best thing about NARS blushes is that they're totally buildable, too! I considered it might look like my cheeks were bruised with LL anyway lol, but good to know a fellow pacific northwest paley tried it and it didn't work lol :)
I'm 15-20 Neutral. I dislike most strong blushes. So i definitely tested Lavish Living in store. I didn't even have a good brush with me, just my old sephora collapsible blush/powder brush. I was sure it would be too dark. But I managed to use a light hand, and i love how it looked, a subtle violet plum, not at all muddy or heavy. However, i can see that careless application could take it overboard.

Dammit, Janet! I thought i had overcome my skipper's remorse, but the more i see people's pics of themselves wearing Private Party lipstick, the more i wish i'd gotten it. If anyone has one they don't love, please let me know. I'm such a pushover for mauvey-plums

I'd be lined up right next to you, falling all over myself!

I have read if you stop using the product the brown spots come back but I am really happy with the results. Good price for what you get and no fragrance or unwanted ingredients. I use the glycolytic acid 7% product with hydroquinolone twice a day. Wrinkles like crows feet and 11 lines are still there of course, but overall the complexion is much more radiant and the fine lines do look smoother. My pores are huge so I alternate with the salicylic acid treatment too.

I used the 10% peel on my heels every other day and they are getting to be baby smooth. We are talking coming back from the brink of alligator skin! I use the 10% peel on my face and chest only once a week but one time I got a little unintended sun afterwards and it was a disaster--itchy and peeling for days! I only do that treatment at night now but it is helping.

I've been wanting to try Paula's Choice as I have been checking her beautypedia and hitting myself when I've found I have bought an expensive item that is not going to work. Her no nonesense approach to beauty really appeals to me, plus the science behind the reviews!

Have you tried any other products?
I have switched to almost exclusively Paula's Choice. I'm fanatic about my morning skin care, but i don't always do my night time stuff, and i need to.

I probably have different issues, since i'm over 60. But i've very happy with her stuff, and i spent a fortune at sephora before i found her. NO perfumes! (which are skin irritants! and don't belong in any skincare) Packaging that protects the product (NO jars!)

I use 2 exfoliants - the 2% BHA (salicylic acid) Lotion Exfoliant on my rosacea areas and the Resist AHA on the rest of my face, Resist hydroquinone only on dark spots, Resist antioxidant serum, and the Resist moisturizer/sunscreen - although sometimes i put a sunscreen with higher SPF on top if i'm going to be near the sun. Lately i've added the Vitamin C drops.

The other day someone i hadn't seen in a while asked me if i was dyeing my hair (nope, i'm greyer), if i'd lost weight (sadly, no), she thought i looked much better than she remembers. The Paula's stuff is helping tone down my rosacea and i think that was it.

Plus Paula's prices are very reasonable.

It sounds more and more like I just HAVE to give it a try. I have sensible skin, possibly a bit of rosacea (not been diagnosed by a dermathologist) as my cheeks and nose are always redder, acne scars and not long ago I still suffered from acne. So yeah, I am really interested in products that WORK, do not worsen the state of my skin and dammit, if the prices are better that many products backed with loads of promo I would be dumb not to at least try them!

Thank you for all the tips!!

I do Paula's Choice Glycolytic Acid peels and I think it is lightening quite a bit of my brown spots (I was a bad girl in the 90s and actually went to tanning beds before I did a little research and found out how bad that is for my skin) and my acne scars. That is the secret I find to making the MB last. They still only will go about 4-6 hours for me, not as good as NARS but the microshimmers are worth it!
I saw PfP on the SA and it was quite red whereas Love Goddess definitely pulls pink on me and others I have seen. It may vary quite a bit with skin tone. I think if you have pink undertones, they will both pull pink and if you have yellow tones, then PfP will pull more red and less pink. Just my

It's got its pros and cons, but if you feel like you have a face full of brown spots, scars, enlarged pores and everything else, you might just want to take the plunge and see if you are a good candidate for IPL treatments - basically a laser peel for the face, done by a dermatologist. I had had it with a couple of big dark spots in a very unflattering location right by my eyes and although some products helped them, nothing was really eradicating them. Just 1 IPL treatment (not full face, just on the offending spot) and BAM, totally gone, not coming back - although it's possible it may come back slightly if I don't choose to have a follow-up treatment, plus the texture of the surrounding skin is so smooth now. I'm seriously considering just taking the plunge and doing the full face, since I was a very good candidate for it, with the right skin tone and skin issues. I will probably wait a few more years before I go with that, as my skin texture is still quite good, but I will be happy to kiss my pores goodbye along with all the other spots and imperfections - obviously upfront higher cost than buying products, but one or two treatments is all a reputable doctor would ever suggest and then you are free from all the constant peels and multiple products and rebalancing all your other moisturizing needs to compensate for the peels, etc. You can get a fresh start and take it from there. I was very happy I tried it out - and to get rid of the spots in the small area I did was $150 - that's practically what one month's supply of some of these things cost in the first place.

Got my black box yesterday. I decided on Private Party, You've got it creamsheen and Lavish living Blush.
(Excuse the mini break out.)
You've got it is a nice nude gloss on me. I thought it would be milky but it's prefect. I may give the lipstick a chance.
Private Party Lipstick is a nice office party/christmas at the folks purple but it runs pinky on me. I was hoping for a darker color...
Lavish Living is just as Liba described...nothing special straight on but once you turn to the side it's really pretty...beautiful sheen (i have it on in both pics)

You've got it creamsheen

Private Party

Miss BeautyBunni I love your photos. You are just a beauty!!!

  I LIKE IT!  It's working for you!!!!:eyelove:
I warned folks that LL may be more like a highlight only for certain skin tones. I do have one idea for you, though…you could try to apply a little bit of it where you want the most color concentration with a slightly damp brush. You'll have to be careful to blend the edges out, but it might help bring out the base color a bit. It might also increase the shimmer too, though. Also, different brushes really change how LL looks on me, so you could try a few you don't normally use for your cheeks to see how it comes out. When it works, it works really beautifully….it's still my favorite item from this collection and I've got quite a few I really love. It's a surprisingly subdued color! I actually like the old lady aspect of it, but it was a bit of a shocker the first time I tried it on. A gloss like Narcissus or Richly Revered will change it up really nicely for something more direct and dramatic. I just want to say, personally I knew this collection would have a lot of products that wouldn't be everyone's taste or look good on everyone. That's why I went out of my way to write these detailed reviews. You can count on me! If there's a collection that has pros and cons, 'ole Liba will for sure come right out and break it all down. :type:  This way you save money and hassle and other people can get their hands on the products - win/win situation! I'm REALLY please MAC did this collection, because while it's not for everyone, when it's good, it's awesome and unusual - I'd rather they take some risks and do some collections that are kind of specialized! That's the advantage of lots of collections. There have been collections that were just all wrong for me and when they'd come up, I'd be happy I could save some money and then move on! Divine Night strikes me as a collection that's more targeted to older women and their color and texture needs, but with a few things that will be fun and different for the risk taking people of all ages. When some collection for porcelain pale teenagers comes out (and you know it will), I will smile and nod and wish I could pull everything off, and then put my money back in my purse.  (I'm not trying to call you out in particular - just quoting you to be a reference for my comment  ) I much prefer layering the MSF colors too, rather than swirling - so many different effects if you do it that way. I layer this one too, to make sure I have just the right amount of gold. I hope MAC does something similar with just that base color too, because it's just beyond gorgeous on its own! Looks really cute! That blush you are wearing is PERFECT for it! Plus your happy smile is cheering up my day :bigthumb:  Thanks for that!
it looks great on you
Thank you lovely ladies! Muah

Eek, I know this is late but I finally took swatch pictures of the products I got - "You've Got It" lipstick and "Tonight's Temptation" MES. The swatches were done outdoors - in natural light and in direct sunlight (mostly for YGI). Also, as "Tonight's Temptation" is my first ever baked eyeshadow, I only swatched it dry as I wanted to ask you guys - is it bad to use plain old water as a means of using them wet? Thanks. :)

"You've Got It":

"Tonight's Temptation":

Blue/Black from the MES, YGI:

Also - I apologize for the crappy watermark. I read somewhere (in this thread too, I think) about how some images people posted were copied and shared elsewhere with no credit. As I do blog, I don't want my images to just randomly appear places without credit, so I made a 'whatever' watermark. I don't actually watermark my pictures on my blog -but- I won't be writing a review for these yet, so the images are only going to be on here for a while. Anyway, enjoy. :D

OH. And I will post a lip swatch at least once I do take one. Now I'm done. =P
